How to keep a non-gas-producing diet

Gases are a nuisance that can be avoided. Choosing the right foods can alleviate the bloating to which some people have a natural tendency. It is not a question of radically eliminating the foods that we are going to detail (many of them are very healthy), but it is useful to know that they have a flatulent effect.

All kinds of beans: French beans, Lima beans, chickpeas...

Legumes cause annoying gases to build up in the intestine. Some people manage them just fine, and others truly suffer. One way to consume legumes while avoiding gases is in the form of purée.

Peas

Yes, peas are also legumes and they have exactly the same effect as beans. And we have the same solution: if you want to eat this food without fear of gases, do so by turning it into a cream or puree.

Lettuce

Bad news: Lettuce can also cause intestinal gas. Not as much as legumes, as it has less 'flatulent power,' but it can still give problems.

Onion

Onion is flatulent, but mind you, only when consumed raw. Cooked onion does not produce gases.

Cauliflower

It's tasty, nutritious and very healthy. But no one is perfect, and cauliflower causes serious bloating.

Brussels sprouts

A close relative of cauliflower and with the same consequences.

Broccoli

This is another vegetable from the brassicaceae family that is not recommended for those who suffer from bloating.

High-fiber foods

Whole-grain bread causes gas, and so does brown rice. In general, high-fiber foods can be problematic for gases, even though they are ideal for regulating intestinal transit.

Chocolate

A delight! But it can also cause tummy swelling and gas.

Pineapple

There are many fruits that do not cause gas, but pineapple does.

Artichokes

Delicious, but also a possible cause of a bloating belly.

Banana

The banana is a truly heavy digestive fruit.

Ham

The thing that induces flatulence in ham is its high percentage of salt.

Potatoes

In all varieties, potatoes cause bloating.

Raisins

They are fabulous for intestinal transit, but they also cause annoying flatulence.

Cheese

Not all cheeses are problematic. Only the strongest and greasiest tend to give gas problems. Fresh cheeses do too.

Apple

If you want to avoid bloating, remove the skin from your apple. The same goes for other fruits such as pears.

Coffee

Coffee is an irrepressible engine of activity in the stomach and intestine. It is not good for controlling gases.

Milk

Milk, yes or no? According to some theories, our organism finds it more difficult to digest and process milk as we age. If you suffer from gas, it is recommended to limit the consumption of milk to one glass per day. However, the calcium in milk must be replaced by other foods.

Plums

A magnificent fruit to regulate the intestinal transit but inadequate if you want to avoid bloating.

Pepper

Another food that can be indigestible.

Cucumber

This delight, too, goes on the list of vegetables to avoid when trying to get rid of bloating.

Spices

Spices in food can be useful to burn fat, but they are also synonymous, in large quantities, with difficult digestions and flatulence.

Sugar

We consume too much sugar, especially through improperly processed foods. It contributes to gas in you digestive system.
