Tragic news: This is why actor Matthew Mindler passed away at age 19

The police of Lancaster, Pennsylvania (United States) have confirmed the worst fears of his family and friends. The former actor Matthew Mindler took his own life on August 25 at the age of 19.

An autopsy on the young student's body confirmed the tragic news. He had become famous at a very young age and played alongside stars like Paul Rudd in 'My Idiot Brother.' Now, at 19 years old, the college student struggled with anxiety, as his mother told TMZ, and it led him to take a most drastic decision.

The young actor became famous, at age 10, as one of the protagonists of the comedy 'Our Idiot Brother'. He played together with Zooey Deschanel, Sterling K. Brown and Emily Mortimer (photo), in addition to Paul Rudd.

His last acting job was in a TV movie, released in 2016: 'Chad: An American Boy'. After that, Matthew Mindler returned to relative anonymity and began studying at Millersville University in Pennsylvania.

It was the University that sent out an alert on social media about Matthew's disappearance in late August 2021. It shared photos and information about the place where he was last seen and the clothes he wore.

The young man had arrived on campus for the new academic year on August 19th. Five days later, he would disappear. Security cameras at his student residence captured the last images of Matthew alive.

That Tuesday, August 24th, Matthew's mother had talked to her son. As she told TMZ, she had agreed with the young student to pick him up on Friday so he could relax at home. She was aware that his anxiety was getting the better of him.

The next morning, Monica tried to contact him again, via text, but got no response. Hours later, the young actor was officially reported missing.

On Saturday, Aug. 28, the actor's lifeless body was found in an area near the Millersville University campus.

Despite the pain, Matthew Mindler's mother sent a message of gratitude to those who supported her through these difficult days: "We appreciate the support, concern, and prayers of Millersville University, the students, and the community. My heart is broken and my mind still cannot understand this reality."
