The undisputed queen of rock & roll, known from songs like 'The Best,' 'Proud Mary,' and 'What's Love Got to Do with It,' died at age 83 in her home in Zurich, Switzerland after a serious illness.

Andre Braugher – December 10

Star from 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' the acclaimed film 'Glory', and many other film, TV, and theater productions such as 'Homicide: Life on the Street' or 'Men of a Certain Age,' Andre Braugher passed away at the age of 61 from lung cancer.

Laura Lynch – December 23

One of the founders of the 'Dixie Chicks,' later The Chicks, passed away at the age of 65 after a car accident. Born and raised in Texas, she called the genre of her group's productions 'cowgirl music.'

Lee Sun-Kyun – December 27

His actors' ensemble won various awards for the movie 'Parasite,' which went on to be the first Asian movie to win an Oscar for Best Picture in 2020. However, the years after this international acclaim seem to have been difficult for Korean actor Lee Sun-Kyun. He ended his life at age 48, on December 27, leaving his wife a farewell note.

Kamar De Los Reyes – December 24

The actor, born in San Juan but raised in Las Vegas, played numerous roles in TV shows and movies. He is best known for his role as Antonio Vega in the soap opera 'One Life to Live,' between 1995 and 2009. He died of cancer at the young age of 56.

Bill Granger – December 25

This Australian cook was on screens all over the world thanks to his program 'Bill's Kitchen'. He also wrote numerous cookbooks. After a brief illness, Granger died on Christmas day in a London hospital, 54 years old.

Matthew Perry – October 28

Protagonist Chandler Bing of the famous sitcom 'Friends,' Matthew Perry unexpectedly passed away at the age of 54. The actor had suffered from addictions but was said to be in good health by 2023. He was found in the jacuzzi of his Los Angeles home, where he had drowned.

Suzanne Somers – October 15

After two decades of dealing with aggressive b r e a s t cancer, the American actress passed away right before her 77th birthday. She is especially remembered for the series 'Three's Company' but she appeared in many other productions.

Rosalynn Carter – November 19

Former American first lady Rosalynn Carter, wife of former President Jimmy Carter, passed away at the age of 96 from natural causes. Her funeral was attended by all First Ladies who came after her and are still with us.

Tony Bennett – July 21

The famous crooner Tony Bennett (born Anthony Dominick Benedetto) passed away after dealing with Alzheimer's disease for several years. He won 20 Grammy Awards throughout his career and kept working until his final years, in collaborations with Lady Gaga.

Paul Reubens – July 30

Better known as P e e-wee Herman, the American actor, a child star for several generations, died at the age of 70 from cancer.

Sinéad O'Connor – July 26

The Irish singer of well-known songs as 'Nothing Compares 2 U' was found dead at her home in London at the age of 56. Her death came 18 months after her son Shaney took his own life at the age of 17, a tragedy from which she had not recovered.

Silvio Berlusconi – June 12

Media tycoon and politician Silvio Berlusconi is considered one of the key figures in Italy's recent history. The former President died at age 86 from chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.

Jerry Springer – April 27

Known as the Mayor of Cincinnati long before he made his controversial 'Jerry Springer' talk show,' this TV personality passed away at age 79 from pancreatic cancer.

Alan Arkin - 29 June

In his career of nearly 60 years, this American actor earned several awards. A highlight was his Oscar for Best Male Supporting Actor in 'Little Miss Sunshine' (2006). He also starred in 'Catch-22' (1970), 'Edward Scissorhands' (1990), and 'Argo' (2012). Alan Arkin died at his home in California at the age of 89.

Evan Ellingson – November 5

Evan Ellingson, known for his role as Horatio Cane's son in 'CSI: Miami', among others, died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl at the age of 35. He had not been active as an actor since 2010.

Raquel Welch – February 15

Nicknamed 'The Body' for her beauty, Raquel Welch revolutionized the film industry in the sixties and seventies with films like 'One Million Years B.C' (1966) and  'The Three Musketeers' (1973). She died at the age of 82 after a brief illness.

Jimmy Buffett – September 1

At the age of 76, the American singer Jimmy Buffett passed away from skin cancer. He was the author of the song 'Margaritaville', which made him one of the richest men in the American music industry.

Hersha Parady – August 23

The 'Little House on the Prairie' actress died in Norfolk, Virginia, shortly after undergoing surgery for a brain tumor.

Ron Cephas Jones – August 19

At 66 years old, American actor Ron Cephas Jones, winner of two Emmys for his role in the series 'This Is Us', passed away. He was suffering from lung problems and had received a double lung transplant in 2020.

Lisa Marie Presley – January 12

The daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley unexpectedly died from a heart attack, the aftereffect of a "small bowel obstruction." She was 54 years old.

Bob Barker – August 26

This icon of American television presented the game show 'The Price is Right' from 1972 to 2007. Bob Barker, who was also known as an animal rights activist, died at the age of 99.

Andrea Evans - July 9

American actress and producer Andrea Evans, known for her role as Tina Lord in the ABC soap opera 'One Life to Live', passed away on July 9 as a result of the breast cancer she was suffering from.

Treat Williams - 12 June

At the age of 71, in a motorcycle accident, lost his life the American actor Treat Williams, who we will remember for his roles in films like 'Hair' or in series like 'Heartland', 'Everwood' and 'Brothers & Sisters'.

Harry Belafonte – April 25

Actor, singer, and activist Harry Belafonte died at the age of 96 from congestive heart failure. With him, the world of entertainment and popular culture lost a civil rights icon. Belafonte's voice was known for hits like 'Calypso'.

Barry Humphries (Dame Edna) – April 22

Australian comedian Barry Humphries is remembered as a genius entertainer who gave rise to iconic personalities like Dame Edna. He passed away at the age of 89 from complications of hip surgery.

Moon Bin - April 19

The body of K-Pop star Moon Bin was found at his home by his representative. According to Korean media, he would have taken his own life. The idol from the group 'Astro' was only 25 years old.

Richard Belzer – February 19

The life of the American actor Richard Belzer, whom many will remember for his role as detective Munch in the series 'Law & Order', ended at the age of 78 at his home in France. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he had been in delicate health.

Mary Quant – April 13

At the age of 93, the British designer Mary Quant, famous for creating and popularizing the miniskirt, left this world.

Tom Sizemore – March 3

American actor Tom Sizemore, known from films like 'Saving Private Ryan (1998) and 'Black Hawk Down' (2001), died from a brain aneurysm at the age of 61.

David Crosby – January 18

The Californian guitarist and singer-songwriter, a founding member of the group The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, died at the age of 81. He had been sick for a while, and several media reported that it was Covid-19.

Lance Reddick – March 17

The American actor Lance Reddick, known for his work in hit series such as 'The Wire', 'Fringe,' and 'Lost' died at the age of 60. The causes of death are unknown, although media such as TMZ indicated that they were natural causes.

Austin Majors - February 11

The American child star Austin Majors, remembered for his work in 'NYPD Blue,' died at the age of 27. According to TMZ, it may have been caused by the intake of a deadly amount of fentanyl, although the investigation is still ongoing. Variety reports that the young actor was living in a homeless shelter in Los Angeles.

Jeff Beck – January 10

Guitarist Jeff Beck, considered by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the best rock guitarists ever, died at the age of 78 as a result of bacterial meningitis.

Angus Cloud – July 31

At the age of 25, the actor in the HBO series 'Euphoria' unexpectedly passed away. Angus Cloud had been suffering from mental health problems for some time. His family cited the death of his father, days before, as a possible catalyst for his demise.

Adam Rich – January 7

Actor Adam Rich, who will always be remembered for his role as Nicholas in the famous television series 'Eight Is Enough', died at the age of 54 in his home in Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles coroner's office, the cause of death is under investigation, although it is not considered suspicious.

Paco Rabanne – February 3

The innovative Spanish fashion designer Paco Rabanne, a great name in the world of fashion, died at age 88 in his home in France.

Lisa Loring – January 28

The first Wednesday Addams in history (she gave life to the daughter of the Addams family in the television series 'The Addams Family' in 1964), Lisa Loring died of a stroke at age 65.

Annie Wersching – January 29

Actress Annie Wersching, known for her roles in fiction such as '24' or 'General Hospital,' died at the age of 45. She died of cancer that was diagnosed in 2020. Wersching was also known as the voice of Tess in the videogame 'The Last Of Us.'

Barbara Bosson – February 18

American film and television actress Barbara Bosson, nominated for five consecutive Emmys for her work in the 1980s series 'Hill Street Blues' (1981-1987) died in her home in Los Angeles (California) after a brief illness.

Brianna Ghey – February 11

British transgender TikToker Brianna Ghey, 16, was stabbed to death at Culcheth Linear Park in Warrington, Cheshire, UK. The police point to a hate crime and have made arrests of two young suspects.

The American guitarist Gary Rossington, the only remaining founding member of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd, died at the age of 71 after fighting various ailments for years.

Lasse Wellander - April 7

The famous guitarist of the Swedish group Abba, Lasse Wellander, died at the age of 70 after having been diagnosed with cancer a short time ago.

Samantha Weinstein – May 14

Canadian actress Samantha Weinstein, known for productions such as the remake of 'Carrie' or 'Alias Grace', died of ovarian cancer that was detected in 2021. As the actress's family posted on Instagram: "Hello from the other side. Sam died on May 14th at 11:25 am surrounded by her loved ones at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.... She is off on her next adventure." The actress was only 28 years old.

John Beasley – May 31

Actor John Beasley, known among others for his role as Irv Harper in the TV series 'Everwood' (2002-2006), died at the age of 79. His son announced the news on Facebook: "I lost my best friend today. They say you shouldn't ever meet your heroes because they don't turn out to be who you thought they were. That is so wrong. My hero was my father."

Andy Rourke – May 19

At the age of 59, the British bassist of the group The Smiths died of pancreatic cancer. “Andy will be remembered as a kind and beautiful soul by those who knew him and as a supremely gifted musician by music fans," the band's guitarist Johnny Marr posted on social media.

Ray Stevenson – May 21

The British actor from series like 'Roma' and movies like 'Thor' died while he was shooting a film in Italy. While working on 'Cassino in Ischia', directed by Frank Ciotaen, he suddenly began to feel unwell and was taken to a hospital, where he died. Stevenson was 58 years old.

Glenda Jackson - 15 June

The British actress, winner of two Oscars for Best Actress (one in 1970 for 'Women in Love' and another in 1974 for 'A Touch of Class') died at the age of 87 after a short illness.

Josephine Chaplin - July 13

In Paris, the American actress Josephine Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin and Oona O'Neill's daughter, died at the age of 74.

Michael Gambon – September 28

Michael Gambon, the Irish actor who played Dumbledore in the 'Harry Potter' saga, along with many other roles, passed away at age 82 due to pneumonia.

Henry Kissinger – November 29

For some a brilliant strategist, for others a war criminal. Henry Kissinger, the American Secretary of State and National Security Adviser during the Vietnam War and other Cold War conflicts in Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America, died from natural causes at the age of 100.

Mark Margolis – August 3

The American actor Mark Margolis, known for playing Héctor Salamanca in the series 'Breaking Bad', died at the age of 83 in New York, reportedly of cancer.

Ryan O'Neal – December 8

Ryan O'Neal was immersed in the film industry from birth. Known for 70s classics such as 'Love Story', he worked together with his daughter Tatum O'Neal (photo) in the film 'Paper Moon.' O'Neal died at age 82 surrounded by his loved ones, as stated by his son Patrick.

David McCallum – September 25

The British actor David McCallum was known for his character as coroner Donald Mallard in the series 'NCIS' and, a generation earlier, as 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E'. He died of natural causes at the age of 90.

Billy Miller – September 15

At the age of 43, American actor Billy Miller, winner of three Emmy Awards for his role in the series 'The Young and the Restless, passed away. The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the head.

Mary Mara – June 26

The American actress, known for series such as 'ER', 'Law and Order' and 'Ray Donovan', reportedly died by drowning in the St. Lawrence River in Cape Vincent, New York.

Steve Harwell – September 4

The American singer Steve Harwell, lead singer of the group Smash Mouth, died at the age of 56 at his home in Boise, Idaho, as a result of liver cirrhosis. The condition resulted from his problems with alcohol.

Richard Roundtree - October 24

The American actor, an icon of Black Power and the first black action hero in cinema due to his role as John Shaft, died at his home in Los Angeles as a result of pancreatic cancer. He was 81 years old.

Randy Meisner - July 26

American musician Randy Herman Meisner, one of the founding members of the bands Poco and The Eagles, died of obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Cody Longo – February 8

American actor Cody Longo, 34, remembered for roles like Andy Matthews in the remake of 'Fame' and appearances in series like 'Medium', 'Nashville,' or 'CSI', was found dead at his home in Austin, Texas.

Bryan Randall – August 5

Former American model and photographer Bryan Randall, the partner of actress Sandra Bullock, died at the age of 57. He had been suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for three years.

Cindy Williams – January 25

'Breaking Bad' actor Mike Batayeh, who we could see in the fourth and fifth seasons as Gustavo Fring's character's laundry manager, died on June 1 of a heart attack while sleeping at his home in Michigan, as reported by U.S. media such as TMZ.

Haydn Gwynne - October 20

At 66, British actress Haydn Gwynne passed away from cancer. In recent years, she had stood out for her roles related to the British Royal Family, particularly as Queen Camilla in 'The Windsors' and as Lady Susan Hussey in season 5 of 'The Crown'.

Conny Van Dyke – November 11

American actress and singer-songwriter Conny Van Dyke died at the age of 78 at her home in Los Angeles due to complications from vascular dementia. Her son Bronson Page broke the news to Variety.

Burt Young - October 8

The American actor Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, better known as Burt Young, passed away at the age of 87, the New York Times reported. A good part of the public may remember him for his role as Paulie, the brother-in-law of Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) in the 'Rocky' films.
