The most popular cosmetic surgery is the augmentation of breasts. A total of 1,658,673 operations make this the number one in the world.
The number two, close to the number one, is liposuction. It extracts fat or fat tissue from the body by using a cannula or syringe connected to a suction machine. No less than 1,625,283 women have undergone this process, making liposuction the second most popular cosmetic procedure in the world.
Blepharoplasty is the scientific name for eyelid surgery. Basically, the operation corrects the excess skin above the eye, produced by the passage of time. There have been 1,142,957 women to the doctor in the past year to correct their eyelids.
An abdominoplasty can correct the skin, fat, and muscles of the abdomen. They can be changed all at once in one operation. Of the 904,846 women who had an abdominoplasty, many chose this operation after a pregnancy.
While the increased size of the breast was the first petition of women at the surgeon's table, the lifting of breasts comes in at number five. Up to 781,404 women have chosen this procedure, which recovers the tension of the breasts without touching their size.
Bone hump, a protruding bone, and deviations or malformations of the nose can be corrected with a rhinoplasty. In the past year, 738,743 women had such an operation done.
Anyone who thinks that eyelid correction is a women's thing: it's not. In fact, the most popular cosmetic operation for men in 2021 was eyelid surgery. 303,932 men had excess skin removed from their eyelids, which made it the number one surgery for them.
Number two is an interesting procedure. Most men don't even know it, but gynecomastia is a popular plastic surgery that men are having done around the world. It's another word for the reduction of the breast. 282,997 men had the operation in 2021.
The reduction of body volume by means of liposuction appealed to 277,779 men, which means that millions of kilos of fat were removed.
Another aesthetic operation shared by men and women is the correction of the nose. However, the volume of men with rhinoplasty is lower than that of women. They only had 256,406 operations last year, but the trend is moving upward.
Of course, the ears are on this list of aesthetic surgeries! The reshaping, reducing, and even gluing of the ears is what 101,382 men asked for last year.
Getting a six-pack is the untold dream of millions of men. To achieve it, some start with abdominoplasty and work on their abdomen from there. As many as 86,515 men have gone through this kind of surgery.
After reviewing the invasive surgeries, there remains a large number of non-invasive aesthetic touches. The absolute queen among those is the botulinum toxin, better known as Botox. 6,252,548 women had it done in the past year. It is also the most common non-invasive procedure for men: roughly a million applied it in 2021.

Removing your hair (anywhere on your body) through laser technology is fast, relatively low in price, and highly effective. In addition to the 1,585,732 women who got permanent depilation in 2021, there were 250,379 men who also chose to eliminate hair from their bodies forever.
