Oscars, SAGs, WGAs... nominations and events postponed due to LA fires
The Oscar-nominations broadcast has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 23. The voting window began on January 8 and was extended until Jan 17 with the announcement on Thurs January 23.
The Oscar nominations reveal will be televised, as usual, but outlets like Hollywood Reporter stated that this year there will not be any press in the audience.
A number of lunches and intimate events take place in the lead up to The Oscars, but this year, the annual Nominees Luncheon has been canceled.
Conan O'Brien is set to host the 2025 Oscars ceremony at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on 2 March, However there are doubts that it might not happen.
Bill Kramer, the Academy CEO, and the president Janet Yang shared in a statement that the 97th Academy Awards has not moved from its date of Sunday, March 2, 2025.
"We are devastated by the impact of the fires and the profound losses experienced by so many in our community. The Academy has always been a unifying force within the film industry, and we are committed to standing together in the face of hardship," the statement read.

After the Critics Choice Awards that was due to take place on 12 January was postponed due to the horrific fires raging through Hollywood, people are now asking what else is going to be cancelled as award season approaches. The Critics Choice Awards are now set to take place on Friday, February 7.

Production has also stopped on many television programmes and the LA County Fire Department has ordered that all permits used for filming in areas including Altadena, La Crescenta, La Canada Flintridge and parts of Pasadena be withdrawn.
NBC Universal said it had suspended filming on TV shows 'Loot', 'Ted', 'Suits: LA', 'Happy's Place' and the Golden Globe-winning 'Hacks'.

So, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has pushed back the voting deadline for this year’s Oscars nominations.
