Consternation about the baby of Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson and her husband, the comedian Colin Jost, have just become parents and the news has taken many by surprise. The actress's pregnancy was merely a rumor that, now, has been confirmed with the arrival of the baby.

Those in charge of confirming the news have been, first, the actress's agent, Marcel Pariseau (through a statement made to 'People') and, later, the father of the child, Colin Jost.

Colin Jost did so through his social media and with a brief statement announcing the sex and the name of the baby. "We have had a baby, his name is Cosmo. We love him very much."

Isn't that the name of the famous character from 'Seinfeld,' one of the biggest sitcoms of the 90s? Cosmo Kramer.

A lot of commenters on social media said the couple should just go ahead and give the baby the middle name 'Kramer'.

It's possible that the baby got his name from the famous sitcom character, since Colin Jost is a stand-up comedian (just like Jerry Seinfeld) and a writer for Saturday Night Live.

The star couple may also have gotten the name from the comic figure Cosmo, who forms 'The Fairly OddParents' together with Wanda on Nickelodeon.
Fans of the animated series tweeted that Cosmo's future baby sister (if she ever arrives) should obviously be named Wanda.

Film buffs may have wondered why Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost had passed up on the chance of calling their baby JoJo. And not only because 'Jo' is the first part of their last names.

Whatever the origin of the baby's name, it's surprising enough already that the 'Black Widow' actress and the 'Saturday Night Live' actor and screenwriter had a baby in the first place.

Both the actress's pregnancy and the birth of little Cosmo have been kept in the strictest intimacy of the couple. Only a slight rumor reached the newsrooms a few times in a past months, but there was never a statement confirming the suspicions nor a photo of Scarlett Johansson looking pregnant in public.

Last June 2021, coinciding with the launch of her new film, 'Black Widow', the actress cancelled her presence in several events to promote the film.

Some media assumed that her absence at the promotional events had to do with Johansson's legal issues with Disney, the company she sued after it released 'Black Widow' in both theaters and streaming platforms (allegedly against an agreement in Johansson's contract).

However, we now know that, in addition to the actress's dispute with Disney, she did not attend these promotional events because she was in an advanced stage of her pregnancy at the time.

Little Cosmo is the first child for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost. The couple got married in an intimate ceremony in October 2020. They had been together for two years at the time.

Their union was one of those celebrity weddings that had to be kept small in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Alternatively, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost may have been just fine with a small and private ceremony.

For the actress, Cosmo is her second child, as she has a daughter born from a previous relationship. Het name is Rose Dorothy and she's just over 6 years old.

At the moment, Scarlett Johansson has not said anything about the birth of her son. The only information available is that she's recovering at home with her baby and enjoying the great experience of motherhood with her family.

It's one more adventure for this great actress who, together with her husband and her two kids, Cosmo and Rose Dorothy, is living one of the sweetest moments of her life.
