These are the 12 children of Elon Musk

The billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and SpaceX, is known for having many children. He is one of those people who follow the philosophy that highly intelligent people should procreate.

At an event for the Wall Street Journal Musk said: "If people don't have more children, civilization is going to crumble... The fundamental constraint is labor. There are not enough people. I can't emphasize this enough: There are not enough people. One of the biggest risks to civilization is the low birth rate."

Shivon Zilis, a Canadian tech entrepreneur and mother of twins with Elon Musk, told the author of Musk's biography, Walter Isaacson, that Elon Musk "really wants smart people to have kids." The New York Times quoted this remarkable comment in an article about the book.

The late Nevada Alexander was born in 2002 after the marriage of Elon Musk and Canadian author Justine Wilson. The baby died from sudden infant death syndrome at 10 weeks old.

Justine Wilson and Elon Musk would remain together until 2008 and have 5 other children with the help of IVF, The Sun reports.

In April 2004, the twins Vivian and Griffin were born. They were born as boys, and Vivian then was called Xavier Alexander. However, in 2022 she came out as a transgender woman and changed her name to the current Vivian Wilson (her mother's last name).

Vivian doesn't have a good relationship with Elon Musk. When she changed her name, she also got rid of her dad's last name, claiming: "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form." Recently, she criticized her father on social media, stating that he was barely home for his kids and that he continued to call her a boy against her wishes.

Now in his twenties, Griffin is the twin brother of Vivian, born in April 2004. Currently, he goes to college and maintains a life away from the limelight. He did appear in a TikTok video with the influencer Josh Richards in 2021.

Kai Musk was born in January 2006 together with two other siblings. Like the twins Vivian and Griffin, the triplets were conceived via IVF. In this photo with Pope Francis in 2022, Kai is said to be the second boy on the left.

Saxon Musk was indicated by the media as the first boy on the left in the photo, right next to the pope. Like Kai and Damian, he was born in January 2006.

Damian is the third of the triplets Elon Musk had with Justine Wilson. Born in 2006, he too is of college age.

The most visible child of the 11 living Musk siblings is this boy with the strange name X Æ A-Xii. Born on the 4th of May 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, he is the first child Musk had with Canadian musician Claire Boucher, known as Grimes.

The boy's name was a little difficult to use in day-to-day life, so over time, the couple decided to simply name him 'X'. And what a coincidence: a bit later, Elon Musk bought social media platform Twitter and renamed it 'X'!

During his on-and-off relationship with Grimes, which she claimed was a "fluid" relationship, Musk found another baby mama in tech executive Shivon Zilis in 2021. With her, he welcomed twins in November 2021.

Azure and Shivon were born on the same day in November 2021. A year later, their mother Shivon Zilis filed a petition to include their father's name, so they have Musk as their last name.

This little girl was born in December 2021 via surrogate with Grimes. And, yes!, this was just a month after Musk had welcomed the twins with Shivon Zilis.

Eventually, this child's name, too, turned out to be too difficult for daily use. So they renamed the girl Y. In this social media post, we can see Grimes dying the 1-year-old's hair.

In September of 2023, Tau was born. He is the third son Elon had with Grimes. Little is known about the young child. In fact, this photo shows one of Tau's elder siblings.

In June 2024, Bloomberg reported that Shivon Zilis had a third child with Elon Musk. The name, date of birth, and gender of the baby are unknown.
