Just like everyone else, celebrities seek to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life during summer. The difference with us common people, though, is that they go to the most exclusive and paradisiacal destinations in the world.

What are the holiday destinations chosen by the richest and most famous for summer, and why do they pick these enclaves?

The Spanish island is, without a doubt, the favorite destination of celebrities in the Mediterranean. The best parties, days sailing on the most exclusive yachts in coves that offer privacy, and dreamy sunsets are some of its main attractions.

Among its fans are Paris Hilton and Leonardo DiCaprio (photo), to name just a few from a long list. And recently, Zac Efron made the news because he had a little accident in an Ibiza swimming pool. But all turned out okay.

Close to New York, we find the Hamptons where only the New York elite can afford to own property. It's a group of towns located on Long Island with their own personality, where the bohemian spirit and luxury go hand in hand. Calvin Klein and Jennifer Lopez have their summer mansions there.
