Kim Kardashian 'Man of the Year'... How come?

Kim Kardashian has been on countless covers of fashion and celebrity magazines, but no one expected her to be on the cover of GQ magazine under the title 'Man of the Year.'

An unusual Gentlemen's Quarterly cover

The businesswoman, reality star, and socialite graces this cover wearing a 'masculine outfit.' On her Instagram account, she introduced the cover by saying: "Hello, I'm GQ's Man of the Year!"

Why did they choose her?

Seeing her on the cover of a men's fashion magazine surprised many. Yet, there is an argument to be made for her being on it.

A very successful businesswoman

Beyond the popularity she achieved with her reality shows, Kim Kardashian has created a clothing and makeup emporium which helped her make a great fortune.

Her Skims brand for men

Among her businesses, there is a popular underwear brand called Skims. She launched it in 2019 and it is now valued at $4 billion. Well, it's because of this brand that GQ made an exception and put her on the cover of the men's fashion magazine.

Partnership with the NBA

With her brand, Kim Kardashian reached the world of men's fashion. Her new Skims Men's line was named the official underwear partner of the NBA at the end of October 2023.

Conquering the men's fashion market

"Men have insecurities about their bodies similar to those of women, whether they want to talk about them or not," Kim said about her new underwear line. She also claims it already has millions of male fans.

Inspired by her late dad

Kim Kardashian's interest in men's clothing was inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian, who "always wanted to look great," she says.

Open-hearted interview in GQ

In GQ magazine, Kim talks about her father, who died 20 years ago. She remembers her parents' divorce and explains how she has managed to move forward after her own separation from Kanye West.

She wants to become a lawyer

In the past two years, the businesswoman has worked with legal tutors to pass the California Bar exam and become a lawyer.

In her dad's footsteps

One of the reasons she's interested in law is the fact that her father was a famous attorney. As she recounts, Robert Kardashian never hid his wish that his children would follow in his footsteps as lawyers.

A famous lawyer

Kardashian was known for his talent in the courtroom. He would become world-famous as O.J. Simpson's lawyer during the athlete's 1995 murder trial. Much of the evidence was against Simpson, but his clever lawyers managed to get him acquitted.

Rich clientele for Kim, after she passes the bar

Once she passes the bar exam, Kim Kardashian will surely become the family's lawyer. Her sisters have already told her they will hire her - so the first big clients are in!

An important bar exam

To get to this point, the busy TV star and businesswoman will first have to pass the bar exam. She hopes to take it in late 2024 or early 2025.

A determined law student

Kardashian can only study a few hours a day because she must take care of her other businesses and her family. Yet, she has her goal very clear and is determined to practice law sooner or later.

Maybe next we'll see her on the cover of a legal publication?

Perhaps, in the future, the socialite will appear in magazines that have to do with law. Or maybe we will see her in California courts handling high-profile cases like her father did.
