Amazing how Blue Ivy has changed

Over the years we've seen stars' babies grow up, and the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z is no exception. Take a look at how the celebrity kid (and Grammy winner!) has changed into the spitting image of her mother.

Blue Ivy Carter

Blue Ivy Carter was born on January 7, 2012, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

Origin of the name 'Blue Ivy'

The origin of her name is unclear. In 2012, Beyoncé posted a text on her Tumblr blog in which she referred to the novel 'A Field Guide to Getting Lost' (2005) by author Rebecca Solnit. It vaguely suggested that the inspiration for the name 'Blue Ivy' came from there.

Very secretive

In her first two years, we hardly saw Blue Ivy. Her parents were very careful and protected her from the public and paparazzi.

Blue Ivy's first public appearance

During the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, Blue Ivy took the stage with her father to congratulate her mother on her accomplishments.

Her twin siblings

Blue Ivy has two twin siblings, Rumi and Sir. They were born on June 13, 2017.

Comfortable in Hollywood

Thanks to her famous parents she is very familiar with fame and life in Hollywood. In this photo at the 2016 MTV Music Video Awards, she was only four years old.

Breaking award records

In 2020, at the age of 8, she became the youngest person to win a BET Award for her collaboration with Beyoncé on 'Brown Skin Girl.' In 2021 she also became the youngest artist to win an MTV Video Music Award for the same clip, and - last but not least - she got a Grammy Award together with her mother for 'Brown Skin Girl.'

Pink suits her well

Here she is with her parents in a wonderful outfit that reminds us a little bit of Prince's style.

On the Red Carpet

At the 2019 premiere of 'The Lion King', she looked very comfortable on the red carpet with her mother. Blue Ivy was definitely born for it.

(Half) Time to have fun

As a child of two superstars, Blue Ivy has access to all the front rows. And there is always time for a bit of fun during the Super Bowl halftime.

Back to school

Sometimes we get a glimpse of Blue Ivy being a 'normal' school student. She attended first grade at the Center for Early Education, a public school in West Hollywood.

Who does she resemble most in this picture?

She is definitely a mix of her 2 talented parents. Don't you think so?

Daddy’s Girl

When she was younger, she looked a lot like her father, Jay-Z.

Basketball games with dad

It is very common to see Blue Ivy enjoying basketball games with Jay-Z.

Viral images from the 2022 NBA finals

In June 2022, she was spotted with her dad at the NBA finals. While she was focused on the game, the world was amazed by her resemblance to her mother!

A great sense of style like mom

Dressed like a Rock Star, in black pants, and T-shirt with a leather jacket, she showed great confidence and fashion sense.

Spitting image of Beyoncé

The curly hair reminds us of her mother in her Destiny's Child years. And the hair is important to Blue Ivy! In a viral clip of the game, shared on sites like Buzzfeed and Page Six, Jay-Z is hugging his daughter and she's telling him: "Not my hair!"

Social media went wild

"She looks just like Beyoncé," countless Twitter and Instagram posts declared.

"Time flies"

Time definitely flies. Fans are feeling old when they see the changes in both father and daughter.

And Blue Ivy? She's still the same

While there is no doubt that Blue Ivy could become the new Queen B, for now, she seems to be most interested in things of a 10-year-old: snacks, basketball, and making sure dad doesn't embarrass her in public.
