Krishnakumar Kunnath was an absolute legend in Bollywood and his sudden and painful death paralyzed fans all over the world.

It happened in Kolkata

Known artistically as KK, the singer died at the age of 53, just after a concert.

It all happened in Kolkata (India), where KK gave a concert. After just an hour, it had to be suspended.

From the stage to the hotel...

KK was not feeling well and proceeded to his hotel to rest. When the situation deteriorated, he went to Kolkata's CMRI Hospital for a checkup.

... to a hospital where he was declared dead

On the way to the hospital, it turned out he had a heart attack. As India Today reports, he died before reaching the hospital.

It was a normal day

Everything was so sudden that KK himself, hours before his death, had shared carefree photos from the concert venue and him traveling to the stage.

As reported by the Khaleej Times, the artist initially recorded songs and jingles for commercials. He made more than 3,500 jingles before taking the road to fame.

His debut album, titled 'Pal' and released in 1999, brought him tremendous fame in his country, elevating him to star status.
