A comeback for the Princess

After six months away from public life following her cancer diagnosis, Kate Middleton has finally made her long-awaited public reappearance.

Great expectations

There was a lot of hype around the return of Catherine, as we had not seen the Princess of Wales at a public event since her last appearance, on 25 December 2023, at the traditional Christmas service at Sandringham.

Trooping the Colour 2024

She has chosen Trooping the Colour, one of the UK's most special (and watched) celebrations, to return to public life on Saturday 15 June 2024.

Not surprisingly, Trooping the Colour is a military parade and it is held to commemorate the sovereign's birthday.  For many, it is also an opportunity to see the leading members of the British Royal Family close to their people.

Surrounded by family

Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, we saw a radiant Kate Middleton, who chose white for her celebratory outfit.

Kate Middleton's recovery

On Friday 14 June, Kate Middleton released a statement to thank all the expressions of support received in recent months and in which she confirmed her presence at the Trooping The Colour ceremony, held on Saturday 15 June. She also shared a photograph that offered a thoughtful shot of the Princess underneath a beautiful tree.

Announcement of Kate's cancer

Following speculation that has been rife since she underwent surgery in January, Kate Middleton admitted in an emotional statement in March that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Her Royal Highness will continue treatment for a few more months

Although the Princess of Wales will gradually resume her official engagements in the future, she will still be undergoing treatment, which will continue for a few more months.

Good and bad days

"I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well”, she wrote in her most recent social post.

A day for celebration

"I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family," Kate Middleton admitted. And it was certainly an occasion to smile and celebrate again.
