Pax Jolie-Pitt leaves ICU a week after bike accident that caused complex trauma
Pax, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's son has now been released - after a full week of being hospitalised and in ICU. E! Online confirmed via a close source to the family that he has now been discharged.
The friend of the family tells E! Online, "He suffered complex trauma, and now begins the long road of recovery and physical therapy".
Pax and Angelina are "deeply grateful for the quick and life-saving action of first responders, and the outstanding medical care he received". His mother has been at his side since the accident on 29th July.
Pax Jolie-Pitt was riding his e-bike and had reportedly suffered a head injury from a collision with a car as TMZ reported.
Pax was in a stable position but medics feared he had suffered bleeding in the brain due to the collision. He was taken to hospital for further investigation and treatment.
It could have been a normal day for anyone: Pax was riding his e-bike down the Los Feliz Blvd in Los Angeles, California - which, according to TMZ, is something he does on a normal occasion. He forgot one important thing.

The publication confirms that Pax was not wearing a helmet when he was traveling down the highly trafficked street. Whether a helmet is legally required for this type of bicycle is unclear but Pax has proved it is nearly always a good idea to wear one.
Pax was cruising down the busy rush hour street around 5pm on July 29 as a light turned read up ahead. As he got closer to the red light, he ‘rammed into the back of a car stopped at the intersection’, as law enforcement sources state to TMZ.
The driver of the car got out to check on on the young 20-year-old before the police and paramedics arrived. Due to his hip pain and head injury, they referred him to the hospital for further checks.
Despite the scare and initial brain injury worry, it was reported that Pax was able to go home swiftly after - yet it seems they kept him in for further monitoring. But one thing is for sure, he will likely be wearing a helmet next time he goes out cruising round LA.
Pax Thien is the fourth child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. He has been around his superstar parents and in the world of film for many years of his life. He was born in Vietnam in 2003 and was adopted by the Hollywood couple in 2007.
"He spent 3 1/2 years of his life in one place, in one room, in this one little iron bed with 20 other kids, and having no choice for himself to do things, having no freedom," Angelina said in an interview, reported by The Standard.
Despite his early years, Pax and his brothers and sisters have been brought up to be ‘thoughtful’ and ‘worldly’ individuals, as Angelina told Vanity Fair in 2017. “I'm very proud of them," she said.
Pax has dallied in a bit of on-screen work including a cameo in his mother’s film, Maleficent, and the voice of You in Kung Fu Panda 3. However, reports suggest he is more cut out for behind the scenes in film, having also worked as a photographer on Jolie’s film ‘First They Killed My Father’ in 2022.
Talking of fathers, Pax and Pitt have a fraught relationship. In 2020, Pax told the world about his disappointment in his father’s behavior on his private Instagram stories. According to The Standard, they read: "Happy Father's Day to this world-class a***h0le! You time and time and again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person."
Pax concluded his infamous message by calling his father an ‘awful human being’ (with a more colorful word thrown in there too!). We are unsure of their current relationship or if the actor in fact heard about the young man’s bike accident from the media.
Angelina Jolie has not made a comment about her son’s current condition or the accident itself - but we do hope he makes a full recovery.
