Having reached the age of adulthood, the second princess in the Dutch royal family appeared for the first time at the yearly presentation of the government budget in September 2023. It's no surprise she looked wonderful that day because she's one of the most stylish royals in The Netherlands.
So what do you need to know about this stunning royal? Well, first of all, she's the middle sister in the Dutch royal family. Her elder sister is Amalia, the Crown Princess born in 2000, and her younger sister is Ariane, born in 2007.

Alexia is second in the line for succession to the throne. She comes after her elder sister Amalia. If, for some misfortune, her father and sister were to die, Alexia would become head of state.

Alexia was born on June 26, 2005, in the Bronovo hospital in The Hague. Her full name is Alexia Juliana Marcela Laurentien.
At her baptism in November 2005, relatives from both sides of her parents' family came to celebrate. As you may know, Queen Máxima has relatives in Argentina, the Zorreguietas. The baptismal witnesses were Prince Friso (King Willem-Alexander's brother who would pass away in 2013), Juan Zorreguieta (Máxima's brother), and the then-princess Mathilde of Belgium, among others.
Princess Alexia had her first winter sports experience in Lech in 2006. The Austrian town is a regular place for the family to go skiing. As she was sitting on the sled with her older sister Amalia, her face seemed to show that she preferred to be with her mother. Overall, though, the family told the press, the little girl enjoyed the snowy slopes.
In 2009, Alexia went to primary school for the first time. She was accompanied by Amalia and her parents. According to the Dutch paper De Volkskrant, she would be serenated at school in both French and Dutch.
In 2016, Alexia broke her leg while skiing with her family in Lech. She was immediately taken to a hospital by helicopter to have surgery.
The three Dutch princesses, including Alexia's younger sister Ariane, grew up fast. When it was time to go to middle school and high school, Alexia went by bicycle, as is common in The Netherlands.

The last two years of high school, Alexia would spend in Wales. On August 30, 2021, she had her first day there, away from her parents. The exclusive boarding school, the United World College of the Atlantic (UWC), is located in the coastal town of Llantwit Major.

Princess Alexia turned 18 on June 26, 2023. For her birthday she received her own flag with symbolic weapons. She was also appointed Knight Grand Cross in the Order of the Netherlands Lion, which is customary for the children of the head of state on their 18th birthday.
In the summer of 2023, Princess Alexia graduated from the Atlantic College Baccalaureate program in Wales. Here we see her with her proud parents, the king and queen of The Netherlands.

Once she got her International Baccalaureate, it was time for a party. That doesn't mean that the princess hadn't partied before. During her time in Wales, several social media reports of heavy partying by the princess and her friends leaked to the press.

The Dutch magazine Elle reports that the princesses have received a lot of negative attention over the years. Especially on social media, they have been criticized for their privileges in times of economic crisis or the pandemic lockdown.
The magazine reports that negative comments still affect Alexia, but she has become accustomed to them. She emphasizes that it is important not to take criticism personally.

Just like her older sister Amalia, Alexia decided to take a gap year after graduation. She would travel, work, and try different activities. When her gap year is over, she will surely let us know what she ended up doing!
