Can Will and Jada Pinkett Smith move on from the shocking revelations about their marriage?

In the week leading to her tell-all memoir 'Worthy,' Jada Pinkett Smith made all kinds of remarkable, painful, and especially personal revelations about her relationship with Will Smith. Many people awaited the husband, Will, to give his side of the story.

As it turns out, Will Smith is completely supportive of his estranged wife's revelations. He praises her book and says it helped him see things clearly. "When you've been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in... You can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties," he declared to the New York Times.

Now that it's all out in the open, one would expect the couple to formalize their separation. But nothing is further from the truth. As Jada Pinkett Smith told NBC's 'Today Show,' the couple is "really concentrating on healing the relationship."

Jada Pinkett Smith explained: "We are in a place now that we are in a deep healing space... We are working very hard at bringing our relationship together back to a life partnership." The actress added that they may even move back together again.

Actress and businesswoman Jada Pinkett Smith made the shocking revelation that she and Will Smith have quietly been separated for 7 years. She confirmed this in an interview with Hoda Kotb on NBC News, where she discussed several personal stories from her memoir 'Worthy'.

The host told her that she was surprised by the preview she had gotten from the book. What shocked her most, she said, was that Pinkett Smith had written that in 2016, she and Will had decided to live completely separate lives. "Yes," confirmed the actress.

As she is known as a woman who always speaks her mind, people have wondered why she hasn't spoken about their marital issues publicly. "I think we just weren't ready yet," she said. "We were still figuring out how to work together and go public, and we hadn't figured it out yet."

In her book, Jada also clarifies that although she and Will are separated, they are still married. In fact, Jada considered getting an official divorce but didn't go through with it.

"I promised that there would never be a reason for us to divorce. We will deal with everything. I just couldn't break that promise," Jada explained in the interview.

Jada and Will married in 1997 and have two children together: Jaden Smith (25) and Willow Smith (22).

Despite saying they love each other deeply, Jada and Will made headlines several times due to perceived marital conflicts.

"(The reason for the breakup) was a whole bunch of things. In 2016, we were just exhausted from trying (to save the marriage)," the actress explained to NBC. "We were still stuck in our fantasy of what the other person should be."

Of course, the fact that they have been separated for so many years shocked everyone, especially because they still appeared at events together and it seemed like they were still a couple.

They went to the 2022 Oscars together, where Will slapped Chris Rock for making fun of "my wife" Jada's hair loss. Despite appearing so, she clarified that they had not attended the event as a couple. Rather, they attended it as a family.

"Even then, I still don't understand why Will was so angry. We lived separate lives and were there as a family, not as husband and wife," the actress said of the situation. The slap Smith gave Rock would become one of the most tense moments in Oscar history.

In her book 'Worthy,' released on October 17th, Jada not only talks about her love life but also about topics such as drug use, depression, and thoughts of taking her life.
