The recent news of actress Kirstie Alley's death has rocked Hollywood. The 71-year-old star had a long career and made many friends during her time in Hollywood. They are now mourning her sudden death of colon cancer on December 5, 2022.

Ted Danson

It was only to be expected that Ted Danson would have something to say about Kirstie Alley's death. He worked with her in the famous sitcom 'Cheers' for several years.

"Kirstie was truly brilliant"

In an interview for Deadline, he said: "I was on a plane today and did something I rarely do. I watched an old episode of Cheers... It was the episode where Tom Berenger proposes to Kirstie, who keeps saying no, even though she desperately wants to say yes. Kirstie was truly brilliant in it."

"As I got off the plane, I heard that Kirstie had died"

"She made me laugh 30 years ago when she shot that scene, and she made me laugh today just as hard. As I got off the plane, I heard that Kirstie had died. I am so sad and so grateful for all the times she made me laugh. I send my love to her children. As they well know, their mother had a heart of gold. I will miss her."

Kelsey Grammer

Kelsey Grammer, who played Dr. Frasier Crane on 'Cheers,' also spoke out about Alley's shocking death.

"I loved her"

"I always believed grief for a public figure is a private matter, but I will say I loved her."

John Travolta

John Travolta, who starred alongside Kirstie in 'Look Who's Talking,' wrote an emotional message for the actress on his Instagram account.

"I know we will see each other again"

"Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I’ve ever had. I love you Kirstie. I know we will see each other again."

Rhea Perlman

Rhea Perlman, who played Carla Tortelli in 'Cheers,' told Deadline: "Kirstie was a unique and wonderful person and friend. Her joy of being was boundless."

"I've never met anyone remotely like her"

"We became friends almost instantly when she joined the cast of Cheers… I've never met anyone remotely like her. I feel so thankful to have known her. I’m going to miss her very, very much."

Kathy Najimy

Kathy Najimy, Kirstie's close friend and co-star in the 90s sitcom 'Veronica's Closet,' posted a moving message on Instagram. "I loved Kirstie Alley," it said. "We first met in a van on the way to shoot an all-woman film in the desert. She was one of the most beautiful beings I had ever seen. And hilarious."

"I regret I haven't said I love you in the past year."

The actress added: "Acting with her was some kind of free-flowing dream. Nothing was off limits... Hilarious, talented beyond belief, and generous and loyal. When we acted, it was a wild wash of fun. Pretty much everything she did was a wild wash of fun. My heart [goes out] to [her children] True and Lillie and their families. I regret I haven't said I love you in the past year. I love you."
