Time passes, but the memory of Jeremy Renner's accident remains. On January 1, 2023, the actor survived a terrible accident with a snowplow, proving that the role of superhero fits him like a glove.

Hard work to recover

Through his social media, Hawkeye's alter ego has been updating his millions of fans about his recovery, his day-to-day life and the work and pain he has endured in order to recover.

Dozens of injuries

After many months of seemly eternal rehabilitation, trying to come back from the dozens of injuries the accident caused, how is Jeremy Renner doing today?

Run over by a 6-ton machine

The initial answer to such a question is simple: He's alive - which is more than a little achievement, given the fact that Jeremy Renner was run over by a PistenBully snowplow weighing more than 6 tonnes.

Return to the site of the accident

The accident left Renner with physical but also psychological consequences. The latter he dealt with by returning to the scene of the accident, in Lake Tahoe, less than six months after it occurred.

Wounds (partially) healed

At the end of May 2023, Renner went on a trip with his family. He had a clear plan: "To shift the narrative of being victimised or making a mistake or anything else. I refuse to be f- haunted by that memory that way," he commented on his Instagram Stories.

In love with Lake Tahoe

Jeremy Renner is a lover of Lake Tahoe and a very involved member of the local community. With the mental wound closed, healing the physical ones seems to have become easier, even though it takes longer.

Returning to public life

A month before this 'healing' visit, Renner had officially reappeared in the media. He went on the Jimmy Kimmel talkshow, telling a detail about the accident that not everyone knew.

Eye out of its socket

Renner revealed that one of his eyes had come out of its socket. "I believe I could see my eye with my other eye," he said.

After breaking more than 30 bones, a collapsed lung, a perforated liver and near-death for 45 minutes, it seems that the sight of his eye was a detail that made the most impact on the actor.

The accident was his fault, he says

As he had already commented on social media, Jeremy Renner admitted in the interview that the accident was his own fault. He had forgotten to pull the handbrake when he got off the snowplow.

Recovering like a superhero

Just as he has assumed the blame, Jeremy Renner has also taken on recovery in miraculous speed. To achieve this, he has worked daily since the accident.

Secret weapon

At the end of August 2023, the actor revealed one of the secrets of his recovery: a hyperbaric chamber that helps him regenerate tissues, reduces muscle fatigue, and gives him pure oxygen to dissolve blood more easily.

Returning in Kingstown

In September 2023, the actor received great news: the series 'Mayor of Kingstown' in which he starred on the Paramount+ channel, had been renewed for a third season.

Waiting for the mayor

Both the producer and the actor believe that he can manage to participate in the new installment of the series.

Mike McLusky

Renner plays Mike McLusky, the man who unexpectedly becomes mayor of the city of Kingstown after his brother dies.

Return to his usual activity

By now, Jeremy Renner has become more and more active at all levels. On social media, he shows that his visits to Lake Tahoe are common again and that he makes a lot of trips with his family.

Many projects underway

The actor also takes the opportunity to promote all the projects he has going on: not just 'Rennervations' and 'Mayor of Kingstown' on TV, but also his spirits business 'Sweet Grass Vodka.'
