He reportedly took his own life

Compounding the tragedy is the news that Garrison was found dead by his brother Gabriel, 22. Flagstaff police told People that there are no signs of foul play and it seems like the boy took his own life. Police told Variety, it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He first appeared on the reality show about polygamy in 2010

Garrison first appeared on the reality TV show ‘Sister Wives’ on TLC, which documents the lives of polygamist families in Utah. According to his father Kody’s Instagram, he is the father of 18 and husband to four… though only one wife has stayed with him.

Kody and Janelle got together in 1993

The parents of Garrison were “spiritually married” in 1993 and went on to have six kids: Madison, Logan, Garrison, Gabriel, Hunter, and Savanah.

The family has been blown apart in recent years

Janelle's 2022 announcement of separation from Kody marked a significant shift in the Brown family. The other wife Christine left Kody in 2021 and then the other wife Meri left him in 2023, according to statements on Kody’s Instagram.

Garrison enlisted in the National Guard

According to Variety, Garrison had demonstrated an interest in joining the US armed services as he grew up on TV. He eventually joined the National Guard and moved out of his parents’ home after the pandemic.

"Not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be:" Janelle expressed concern over her kids’ mental health

Amid the rocky relationship with Kody, Janelle shared that she was worried about the mental health of her two boys on the show. “I have worried about my boys’ mental health. Gabriel feels everything very, very deeply. But he’s also the kid who doesn’t say anything,” she said, adding that Garrison “just seems angry or sadder, like, he’s not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be.”

Kody had a total falling out with Gabe and Garrison

In an episode from May 2023, Kody said a huge rift had formed between him and his children. “I think and hope that in time we’ll just get over this and that we’ll be safe being back around each other. Right now, there’s not really an open door with Gabe and Garrison. They’re they’re not willing to engage me,” Kody said.
