Tom Hardy: the chameleon actor

Not only is Tom Hardy a brilliant actor, but he is also a very handsome chap. However such is the actor’s dedication to his roles, he will regularly appear in films and is totally unrecognisable. Here is a list of the ever-changing faces of Tom Hardy.

Johnny ‘The Bikeriders’ (2023)

Tom’s latest film, where he plays biker and big brother to Austin Butler’s Benny. It is a good-looking film with a strong cast and, as always, Mr Hardy Rocks his performance as the leader of a biker group.

Ronnie and Regie Kray ‘Legend’ (2015)

Here the actor played both brothers in this story of Eastend gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray. Hardy showcased a brilliant bit of acting, particularly as Ronnie and defined each brother impeccably. He should have won an Oscar!

Charles Bronson ‘Bronson’ (2008)

Tom really beefed up for this role; playing another gangster. This time the notorious hard man Charles Bronson. At one time was considered Britain’s most violent criminal.

John S. Fitzgerald ‘The Revenant’ (2015)

You wouldn’t recognise the handsome actor in this role. He is disfigured, dirty, and generally an unpleasant person. Tom pulls of yet another quality performance.

Tom Conlon ‘Warrior’ (2011)

Troubled brother, fighter, son and marine, Tom Conlon (Hardy), takes part in a mixed martial arts tournament. His father who is played by Nick Nolte trains him but can’t prepare him for his final fight.

James Keziah Delaney ‘Taboo’ [T.V.] (2017)

After returning from his travels James Delaney returns home from a mysterious trip to Africa to take on the government and rebuild his fathers business. Hardy is brilliant and mysterious... and looks great in a hat.

Bane ‘The Dark Knight Rises' (2012)

Hardy is enormous in this film, but is barely recognisable with a shaved head, a mask and a body reminiscent of the Hulk. In fact, if it wasn’t for the credits, you wouldn’t even know it was Tom Hardy.

Eddie Brock ‘Venom’ (2018)

Lots of CGI in this film and in the role of Eddie Brock, Hardy looks very normal - obviously, until his transformation into Venom. A successful film franchise with the third film in the series on its way.

Al Capone ‘Capone‘ (2020)

Hardy does well as a gangster, and this time Hardy plays the legendary American mobster Al Capone. Hardy plays Capone at the end of his life when the notorious mob boss is suffering from deteriorating mental health issues.

Shinzon 'Star Trek Nemesis' (2002)

The actor takes to the screen bald again but with nowhere near the muscle he had for Bronson. A young Hardy plays the baddie trying to cause trouble for the federation and the crew of the Enterprise.

Alfie Solomons 'Peaky Blinders' (2013)

Hardy plays this character brilliantly and has a recurring role throughout the series. He plays Jewish Londoner Alfie Solomons, who has a strange type of love/hate relationship with Tommy Shelby, the lead character played by Cillian Murphy.
