FireAid: stars to perform LA wildfires benefit concert

Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish are just two of the names who have got together to help those affected by the terrible fires in California U.S.A.

Eilish took to social media to ask her fans to help support non-profit organizations and spoke about the devastating effects of the disaster. "While our family is safe, many of the people and communities we love have endured devastating loss," she wrote on Instagram.

Although they haven’t been named as performers at the charity event, The Eagles have already donated 2 and a half million dollars to the victims of the blaze.

Scheduled to take place on 30 January as reported by the Hollywood Reporter, the stars rushing to help include Jelly Roll, Lil Baby, Tate McRae (pictured) and Gwen Stefani. 

According to The Evening Standard, the line-up will also feature Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks and 10-time Grammy winner Joni Mitchell. The music legends Sting and Rod Stewart are also penned to be performing.

Several media outlets, including Billboard, have reported that artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Katy Perry, Green Day, and Gracie Abrams are also ready to help. More stars are expected to want to jump on the bandwagon.

Live Nation, AEG and the Azoff Company announced FireAid last week and the concert will take place at the Intuit Dome, the home venue of the Los Angeles Clippers. The concert will also use the Kia Forum next door, as well as being broadcast and streamed live.

The wildfires have taken a devastating toll on California with a confirmed number of dead at 25 and another 38 missing. Thousands of structures have been either destroyed or damaged.

Many of the proceeds will go towards improving and advancing fire prevention technologies and strategies, as well as rebuilding infrastructure and supporting displaced families.

‘Perfect’ star and scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis and big hitter Leonardo DiCaprio have already donated serious cash to help the victims of the devastating wildfires.

This isn’t the first time Lady Gaga has helped victims of wildfires. In 2018, she worked with the Red Cross delivering pizzas to those affected by the disaster. 

Back in 2007, Gwen Stefani, who grew up in L.A., started a college scholarship fund for students affected by wildfires. We hope this incentive concert will bring relief to families and a step toward ensuring this devastating outcome never happens again.
