The recipient of the gift could see it as a hint that she's getting old, so it would probably upset her. A better alternative would be to offer her a day in a beauty salon where she can relax and be pampered.

After a certain age, a woman probably expects something less kitschy from you. Jewelry is not a bad idea if it is personalized, as any good gift.
