Where have we seen actor Matthew Lillard before?
The American actor was born on January 24th, 1970. He launched his acting career with a role in John Waters' dark comedy, 'Serial Mom' which starred Kathleen Turner and Sam Waterston.
Lillard was cast alongside Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller as 'Emmanuel "Cereal Killer" Goldstein' in the film about teenage hackers when the internet was only gaining popularity.
The original 'Scream' film was released in 1996. Lillard was cast in the role of 'Stu Macher,' the accomplice of the 'Ghostface killer' who was killed at the end of the film.
Although Lillard's character was killed off in the first installment of the franchise, he has had several cameos in other 'Scream' films including a vocal cameo in the 2022 reboot starring Jenna Ortega.
Lillard was cast as the loveable 'Sh4ggy Rogers' in the 2002 film which also starred Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. The film was a massive success, grossing $275.7 million across the globe.
Following the success of the first film, the cast returned for another mystery comedy. The film was successful, but grossed significantly less than the first film, bringing in a mere $181 million. Ultimately, plans for a 3rd film were cancelled.
Lillard was nominated in 2002 for a Teen Choice award for 'Choice Movie Actor - Comedy' and received a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award in 2003 for 'Favorite F4rt in a Movie.'
Casey Kasem was the original voice of 'Sh4ggy'. Since his retirement in 2009, Lillard has continued to voice the character in animated movies and video games.
Lillard co-starred in the 2006 comedy 'The Groomsmen' which was written and directed by Edward Burns and stars the late Brittany Murphy.
From 2018-2021, Lillard had a supporting role on the crime drama 'Good Girls.' The series starred Christina Hendricks and Mae Whitman.
Lillard played the supporting role of 'William Afton' in the film adaptation of the popular video game, 'Five Nights at Freddy's.'
The release date for 'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' has been set for December 5th, 2025.
