The youngest daughter of Willem-Alexander and Máxima was born in The Hague in 2007 with the name Ariane Wilhelmina Máxima Inés. The second and third names, Wilhelmina and Máxima, refer to her great-great-grandmother (the former Queen Wilhelmina) and her mother.

Prince Willem-Alexander married an Argentinian woman who was not of nobility: Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti in 2002. Máxima, born in Buenos Aires, worked in the banking and investment sector when she met the Prince of Orange.

Ariane's sisters are Princess Catharina-Amalia of Orange (2003), the heir to the throne, and Princess Alexia Juliana Marcela Laurentien (2005).

Like her two older sisters, Princess Ariane has a name inspired by Greek mythology. 'Ariane' is a variant of 'Ariadne', a figure from Greek mythology known for helping Theseus escape the Minotaur's labyrinth.

Ariane got her fourth name Inés from her aunt, Máxima's sister, who tragically died in 2018 at the age of 33. The beloved aunt Inés from Buenos Aires, pictured here next to Ariane's grandfather, had suffered from psychological problems for a long time.

As the youngest of three princesses, Ariane is third in line for the Dutch throne. If for some reason her older sisters do not become queen, Ariane takes over the crown from her father. However, most experts expect that it will not come to that.

As is common among members of royal families with an international background, Princess Ariane has dual nationality. She has both Dutch and Argentine nationality due to her mother's birthplace.

Princess Ariane is studying at the United World College Adriatic in Italy, where she hopes to obtain the International Baccalaureate in 2025.

The school is located in a special place on the east coast of Italy, close to the Slovenian border and Venice. The campus is spread across the picturesque town of Duino.

Princess Ariane grew up in a multilingual household and speaks several languages at a high level. In addition to Dutch, she also speaks English and Spanish due to her mother's Argentinian origins.

From an early age, Princess Ariane has accompanied her parents and sisters on official engagements and royal duties. These appearances have been carefully crafted to gradually introduce her to royal protocols and public life.

Like many young people her age, Princess Ariane is interested in sports. She enjoys activities with her family members such as sailing and skiing.
