Kate Hudson begged Matthew to wear deodorant when they worked together

Well, apparently, during the filming of the romantic comedy 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days', Matthew's co-star actress Kate Hudson DID have an issue with his smell. In an interview with Play boy Magazine, Matthew said that Kate would bring a salt rock, a natural deodorant, and say to McConaughey, 'Will you please put this on?'"

Jessica Simpson doesn't brush her teeth everyday

Jessica Simpson is known for her big, bright smile, yet on the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show,' the reality star admitted that she brushes her teeth only a few times per week. Simpson told DeGeneres, "My teeth are so white, and I don't like them to feel too slippery, but I do use Listerine, and I do floss every day."

"I know it's gross but I always have fresh breath!"

Simpson continued, "But I don't brush them every day. I'll use a shirt or something ... I know it's gross, it's gross, but I always have fresh breath." Yes, Jessica, it is gross! This interview was back in 2010, so let's hope that habbit has changed!

Brad Pitt uses baby wipes instead of showering

In an interview with People magazine, Eli Roth, who co-starred with Brad Pitt in the film 'Inglourious Basterds' shared that Pitt had some less than stellar hygiene habits. Roth told the magazine, "He (Pitt) shared that when you're sweating and don't have time to take a shower, you just take a baby wipe and rub it under your armpits."

"I'm getting peed on all day. I don't have time to take a shower."

Roth continued, "After a scene, Brad had to get next to me for a close-up shot, and he said, 'Dam, you're ripe.' I said, 'I didn't have time to shower.' He said, 'Baby wipes, man, baby wipes. I got six kids. All you've got to do is just take them, a couple quick wipes under the pits. Man, I'm getting [peed] on all day. I don't have time to take a shower.'"

Julia Roberts also does not use deodorant...

In 2008 the iconic rom-com actress Julia Roberts made a shocking revelation on to Oprah Winfrey. The actress told the talk show host, "I don't actually use deodorant...it's just never been my thing."

Roberts also doesn't use shampoo and soap!

Not only does Julia Roberts not use deodorant, but according to her former bodyguard, the actress isn't a fan of soap either. Julia's former security guard told Star, "Julia is a total hippie. She'll go days without showering. She likes to save water — she's really green. And she likes the smell of her natural oils. She also says that she can't wash her hair too often because it's so dry. She may have a point there, but she often gets musty."

Harry Styles has the smelliest farts

Fans may go wild over Harry Styles' looks, but if his bandmates are to be believed, the girls would run away if they had to spend any time up close and personal with him! Styles bandmate from One Direction Louis Tomlinson told Sugarscape, "I dislike it when Harry farts and then pretends it's not him for literally 10 minutes." Zayn Malik also spoke up about Styles' smelly problem. Harry's bandmate told Top of the Pops, "I don't think there's enough money on this earth that would make me sniff Harry's socks!"

Harry's ex-girlfriend says he has bad breath too

However, according to The Daily Star, Harry's feet and farts aren't his only stinky features. The newspaper reported that Harry Style's ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift complained about the singer's bad breath. The Daily Star reported that Swift said, "had the worst breath, like coffee, cigarettes, and booze."

Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly doesn't smell great

Apparently, Gwyneth Paltrow's decision to swear off using conventional deodorant due to "health risks" causes her to get pretty ripe. According to the National Enquirer, in 2013, Gwyneth swore she would never attend the MET Gala again because it was too hot and sweaty at the event.

Some say Gwyneth was "pungent" at the 2013 MET Gala

An unnamed source told the tabloid that while the actress may have LOOKED gorgeous while attending the event, she certainly didn't SMELL nearly as nice. The source said, "It was pretty pungent, and I don't think she had a clue. I saw at least two people wave their hands in front of their noses after passing her."

Robert Pattinson reportedly didn't wash often while filming 'Twilight'

When Robert Pattinson was filming the 'Twilight' saga, the actor had some pretty unpleasant cleanliness issues. Extra asked the actor if the rumors that he hadn't washed his hair for six weeks was true, and the actor's answer revealed a lot about his cleanliness at the time. Pattinson told Extra, "I don't really see the point in washing your hair ... If you don't care if your hair's clean or not then why would you wash it?"

"I don't care if it's clean or not."

Robert also told the news outlet that cleanliness in his home wasn't important to him either: "It's like, I don't clean my apartment 'cause I don't care. I have my apartment for sleeping in, and I have my hair for just, you know, hanging out on my head. I don't care if it's clean or not."

Uma Thurman doesn't care if her clothes are dirty

While you might think that Uma Thurman is all glitz and glamour, rumour has it she can be a bit of a disaster. An unnamed stylist sport to Star about the deplorable state in which Thurman often showed up for fashion shoots.

"She'd show up wearing clothes covered in crusty, smelly food"

The stylist told Star, "I worked with her on a shoot for a major fashion house. She'd often show up wearing clothes covered in crusty smelly food. I pulled a piece of shrimp off her back that I swear was two weeks old." Yikes!

Russell Crowe's poor hygiene habits reportedly made Renee Zellweger refuse to do intimate scenes with him

Russell Crowe might be a fantastic actor, but he has become known in the business for having two major flaws: his bad temper and offensive body odour. According to the National Enquirer, insiders said that even though producers tried to convince him to improve his hygiene while filming 'Cinderella Man', the actor refused. The tabloid reported that it so bad that Renee Zellweger demanded a body double for any intimate scenes she had to do with Crowe.

"If you stand really close you may catch a whiff of alcohol and curry..."

An unnamed friend of Crowe's told the National Enquirer, "Russell is just an ordinary bloke, and he certainly doesn't have a hygiene problem. If you stand really close to him you may catch the occasional whiff of al co h ol and curry after a night on the town. But you show me a normal, down-to-earth bloke who isn't like that the morning after he's had a few beers and some good grub."

Cameron Diaz

Not using deodorant is apparently really common among the Hollywood crowd. Cameron Diaz joins Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow in their disdain for using antiperspirants.

"I don't believe in antiperspirant"

When E!News asked Diaz about why she is often caught with pit stains on the red carpet, the actress said, "I don't believe in antiperspirant. It's really bad for you. I haven't used it for almost 20 years. You're stinky, because you use antiperspirant. It keeps all the stink in." Cameron then gave fans some advice, "Let it go and just trim your armpit hair so it doesn't hold onto the scent."

Jake Gyllenhaal - doesn't think washing is important

In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, the actor gave little importance to the act of washing up: “More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times,” he said. “I do believe, because Elvis Costello is wonderful, that good manners and bad breath get you nowhere. So I do that."

"We naturally clean ourselves"

And he added: "But I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves.” Jake also talked about his childhood fascination with the origin of sponges.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard -take less showers to save water

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard follow a philosophy similar to Jake Gyllenhaal. In the actor's podcast, his wife argued that California is an area with dry spells and that we need to be responsible for the environment: “This is the other thing is California has been in a drought forever. It’s just, like, responsibility for your environment. We don’t have a ton of water, so when I shower, I’ll grab the girls and push them in there with me, so we all use the same shower water.”

No more nightly baths in the Shepard/Bell home

On his end, Dax Shepard acknowledged that while bathing his children used to be a part of their nightly routine, he has stopped doing so over the years.

"I like to wait for the stink"

The couple confirmed the habit on the program 'The View,' which gave more details about the frequency of bathing of their children. “Sometimes five, six days go by, and they don't stink,” Dax said, then corrected by Bell: “They stink, yes. Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up.”

Jason Momoa is on "team clean"

Jason Momoa, on the other hand, seems to be part of the clean group. On the Access Hollywood website, he was emphatic: “I'm Aquaman," he added. "I'm in the f****** water. Don’t worry about it. I'm Hawaiian. We got saltwater on me. We good."

Dwayne Johnson

'The Rock' agrees with his fellow superhero regarding hygiene. On Twitter, he assured fans he takes a shower three times a day: "Nope, I’m the opposite of a ‘not washing themselves’ celeb," the "Jumanji" actor stated. "Shower (cold) when I roll outta bed to get my day rollin’. Shower (warm) after my workout before work. Shower (hot) after I get home from work."

Cardi B - horrified

The singer also showed to be disturbed by the revelations of celebrities. In a Twitter post she wrote: “Wassup with people saying they don't shower? It's giving itchy."

Parenting choices and internet controversy

In fact, this whole discussion started after Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher made a surprising revelation during a chat on the 'Armchair Expert' podcast.

Only the "essentials" get washed

In the 'Armchair Expert' podcast, the couple confessed to Dax Shepard (and the world) that they only use soap on a daily basis to wash the most essential areas of their bodies. They also admitted that they do not shower or bathe their kids very frequently.

The Kutcher family

The couple have two children, Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher, born in 2014, and Dimitri Portwood Kutcher, born in 2016. "When I had small children, I also didn’t wash them every day," Kunis said candidly. "I wasn’t that parent that bathed my new-borns -- ever."

Mila sticks to the "pits, t*ts, and bits" philosophy

“I don't wash my body with soap every day," said Mila Kunis. The actress did admit she does wash the essential areas daily, such as her underarms, chest, private parts, and feet. Whereas her husband Aston Kutcher said all he needs is a single bar of soap because... “I wash my armpits and cro t ch daily and nothing else ever.”

Ashton only uses water to wash his face

However, the couple did admit to washing their faces more frequently, with Mila wash her face twice a day, and Ashton said he washes his face after workouts "to get all the salts out." Dax Shepard's co-host, Monica Padman, was quite surprised by the couple's lack of washing.

Monica Padman was shocked

“I can't believe I'm in the minority here of washing my entire body in the shower. Who taught you not to wash?” asked Monica Padman (pictured) to the guests.

Childhood habits

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis starred in the series 'That '70s Show' (1998-2005). At the time, they had no idea that, years later, in 2012, they would start a relationship and, in 2015, they would marry.

If you fail the stink test you get a bath

In fact, according to the couple, they only wash their kids when they are obviously dirty and/or fail the "stink test."

Pediatricians agree with Mila and Ashton's lack of washing

And while the internet maybe be freaked out about Ashton and Mila's oversharing about their children's bathing habits, dermatologists and paediatricians actually think they are doing the best thing!

Natural oils

Daniel Ganjian, a paediatrician at Providence Saint John's Hospital Center in Santa Monica, California, told 'Insider,' "Our body makes natural oils to protect our hair and skin. It's good to keep those natural oils going."

Less soap is better for the skin

Depending on the age of the child, bathing advice varies, but according to
The American Academy of Dermatology Association, babies should be bathed twice a week, and older kids at least once.

'Just once a week with soap'

Paediatrician Daniel Ganijan also told 'Insider' that if you do wish to bathe your child daily, do so without soap, and just use soap and shampoo once a week, as it is better for the child's skin.
