The band of brothers Kevin, Joe and Nick stopped their activities in 2013, but in 2019 they returned with more force than ever. their catchy new songs included 'Sucker' and 'What a Man Gotta Do.'

Backstreet Boys

We have danced (a lot) and we've fallen (madly) in love with one of the most famous boy bands in history: the Backstreet Boys. These five guys from Florida were a huge phenomenon in the 90s and are still active. In January 2019 they released the album 'DNA' and started a world tour.

 

New Kids on The Block

New Kids on The Block burst out worldwide with the album 'Step by Step' (1990). After 14 years of inactivity, the members of the band got together and made several shows together, to the joy of the fans.

Boyzone

This Irish boyband, formed in 1993, is one of the most famous in the United Kingdom. Boyzone sold more than 100 million records worldwide. In 2009, singer Stephen Gately, on the left in this image, suddenly passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition. In 2019, after a 25-year anniversary tour and album, the group disbanded.

NSYNC

JustiN, ChriS, JoeY, LansteN (this N originally belonged to another member of the band named Jason but he was replaced by  Lance Bass Lansten) and JC. Yes, the name of the band comes from the last letters of the members' names. Their first album was released in 1997 and sold more than 10 million copies.

One Direction

This English band of five boys was created in 2010 in the program 'X- Factor.' Since then, the boyband has recorded 5 albums and has made millions of teenagers fall in love all over the world. One Direction was recognized by the powerful Billboard Magazine as "the revitalization of the boyband movement".

 

BTS

The popularity of this K-pop band (South Korean musical genre) has transcended all borders. In 2017, BTS was the first on iTunes in 73 countries. At each concert, thousands of fans dance to the rhythmic songs of the band. Billboard compared this public phenomenon to the Beatles in the 1960s.

Hanson

In 1997, the brothers Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson became famous all over the world with the hit 'MMMBop'. The most surprising thing about this boy band was their age at that time: Isaac, 16, Tay, 13 and Zac, 11 years. They are still active.

98 Degrees

98º was formed in Los Angeles in 1996 with the brothers Nick and Drew Lachey at its core. The four boys played R&B, urban and contemporary music and were active until 2005. In August 2012 they met again to perform at a festival in the state of Pennsylvania, which led to an album in 2013 and several other reunions. In 2021, they released a single, 'Where do you want to go,' showing that it's not over yet for 98º.

 

Super Junior

This South Korean band became known after participating in a TV show. Super Junior has 8 albums and has won more than 30 awards.

Jackson Five

We cannot forget this boyband, whose performances influenced many other artists. Michael Jackson and his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy sang and danced together from 1964 to 1984. In these years they sold about 113 million records.

 

Menudo

Latin America surrendered to the feet of this Puerto Rican boyband in the 1980s. We still sigh when we remember members Robby, Charlie, Roy, Ray and Ricky Meléndez, who would later be replaced by Ricky Martin.

Emblem3

This reggae pop band was discovered in 2012 in the American 'X-Factor' program. In 2015, its members - Wesley Stromberg, Keaton Stromberg and Drew Chadwick - split up, but the following year they rejoined and released the single 'Now'.

 

Five

In 1997, Robinson, Neville, Richard 'Abs', Conlon and Jason 'J' Brown were the five candidates chosen in an audition by the creators of the Spice Girls (whose Mel C you see in this photo) to form a boy band. Together they sold more than 20 million records worldwide.

IM5

The IM5 boyband was discovered on the 'American Idol' TV show and some of their songs were broadcast on Disney radio. Their video 'Disney Dudez', recorded by band members, went viral on the Internet.

The Beach Boys

This is one of the longest boy bands in history. The group's composer, Brian Wilson, was a pioneer in trying out new productions in popular music, creating a sound that combined jazz and rock and roll.

CNCO

Christopher, Erick, Joel, Zabdiel and Richard together form the Latin pop group CNCO. One of their biggest hits is the song 'Reggeaton Lento' (Bailemos). The group came out of a reality show in the United States and the person in charge of bringing them together was none other than Ricky Martin.

 

Take That

Take That is a British pop boyband that currently consists of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald. The band used to have two more members, Robbie Williams and Jason Orange, but they ended up leaving the band.

Big Time Rush

The band came out of the TV series of the same name, broadcast by Nickelodeon. Their first album, 'B.T.R', was released in 2010. Their last tour was in 2014. The group consisted of Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Henderson.

The Wanted

This British boyband released their first album in 2010. The single 'Glad You came' reached third place on the Billboard Hot 100. Since 2014 this boyband has been inactive.

Ultra

This English band was successful at the end of the 90s. Outside the UK, they were especially popular in Italy and Southeast Asia.

Union J

This is another British boyband that emerged in the 'X Factor' program. Union J consists of JJ Hamblett, Josh Cuthbert, Jaymi Hensley and Casey Johnson, and together they already have 2 records.

Westlife

This Irish band, formed in 1998, has had 14 singles at the top of the UK charts and sold over 90 million albums worldwide. In late 2021, they released a new album: 'Wild Dreams'.
