Cormac Roth, son of actor Tim Roth, dies at 25

Very hard news for the British actor Tim Roth and his family. Cormac Roth, his 25-year-old son, has died of germ cell cancer.

The family itself has confirmed the sad news in a statement to 'Variety.' the actor and his family also give more details of what happened.

"On Sunday the 16th of October, we lost our beautiful boy Cormac after a courageous battle with cancer," the statement read.

The family waited two weeks to confirm the death, which suggests how difficult the situation must have been for them.

Cormac Roth himself announced that he was sick. In July 2022, he shared a shocking video on Instagram, where he showed his hairless head. The musician held a guitar in his hands while he told his followers that he had cancer.

"In November of 21, I was diagnosed with stage 3 germ cell cancer," he said. "Since then I've been fighting it daily, throwing everything I can at it."

"Chemo, high dose chemo, medication, transplants, transfusions, surgeries, etc. It is called Choriocarcinoma, it is rare, and it has managed to stay many steps ahead of me no matter what I throw at it," he said in that video, nine months after his diagnosis.

"It has taken away half of my hearing, 60 pounds of weight, my confidence, and [it] will continue its murderous path until I can manage to stop it somehow and kill it."

"But it hasn't taken away my will to survive, or my love of making music. It hasn't taken me down yet," the young musician pointed out while he played his guitar in the video.

Unfortunately, the cancer was too much for Cormac Roth. The illness ultimately claimed the life of the 25-year-old.

Before passing away, Cormac Roth left another video on Instagram. It was his last post and, in this case, it sounded like a farewell. The young man encouraged his followers to be happy.

"You don't always get to choose your destiny, you don't always get to choose, you know, your future, but just be an undeniable force that lives. And breathe that thing you claim that you love and that you are, and really do it. If it makes you happy really do it, and that's all I got. I love you!"

His last sentence is the one that caused his followers to think that the treatment was not going well.

The young man lived life to the fullest. "If it makes you happy really do it!" he said to his followers in his last message. The musician's Instagram account has become the meeting point for those who want to say goodbye to him.

For their part, the musician's closest family, consisting of Tim Roth, Nikki Butler (Cormac's mother), and Hunter Roth, closed their farewell statement as follows: "The grief comes in waves."

They described Cormac as "that beautiful boy across the 25 years and 10 months that we knew him. An irrepressible and joyful and wild and wonderful child. Only recently a man. We love him. We will carry him with us wherever we go."
