Critics Choice Awards: the best of the red carpet

The Critics Choice Awards 2022 saw 'The Power of the Dog' come out on top. The film is swiftly heading towards the Oscars. But, beyond the award winners, there was also time to enjoy the stars on the red carpet. Here are the highlights of the gala held in Los Angeles.

A Dolce & Gabbana dress for Best Actress nominee Kristen Stewart. A sleek and elegant design with a side hairdo that radiates pure class.

One of the most daring looks of the ceremony came from Lady Gaga, nominated for her role in 'The House of Gucci'. Hers was a golden Gucci number (of course) combined with jewellery by Tiffany & Co.

The winner of the Best Actor in a Motion Picture award, Will Smith, couldn't stop smiling all night. He was accompanied by his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith. Their looks both complimented each other nicely. Thumbs up.

All in red for Selena Gomez. The actress wore a stunning Louis Vuitton dress and adorned with jewellery by Boucheron.

The 'The Squid Game' actress chose an eye-catching Louis Vuitton dress.

Gucci was also the designer of choice for actor and singer Jared Leto at the Critics Choice Awards. He wore a cream suit and silver shoes. Somebody did a great job of ironing his trousers, too.

Transparency and lace came from Kristen Wiig. Hers was a black design by Rodarte. She rocked it.

A Chanel Haute Couture design for the young actress Margaret Qualley. We love this outfit made up of the different fabrics.

A striking red Alberta Ferreti design with a strapless neckline for actress Juliette Lewis. Classic. Classy. And it had pockets. Couldn't ask for more.

The winner of the Best Supporting Actress award for 'West Side Story', Ariana DeBose, wore a striking orange design by Carolina Herrera.

Gold strapless design by Oscar de la Renta for the wonderful Elle Fanning. She always pulls off the regal look.

Halle Berry looked stunning in a Dolce & Gabbana suit design. The corset took the look from office-wear to high fashion.

Dior Haute Couture dress and Bulgari jewellery for actress Carey Mulligan. Absolutely stunning - just appreciate the attention to detail on that gown.

Correct and elegant. 'The Squid Game' actor Lee Jung-jae arrived in a Gucci suit.

Velvet suit by Saint Laurent for Andrew Garfield at the Critics Choice Awards 2022. To be honest, this actor can pull off anything from modern cuts to old-school vibes.

A couple on the red carpet: Rita Ora and Taika Waititi. Elia Saab designed Ora's dress and, yes, it is meant to have that bear-claw-slash effect. Could anyone else have been able to pull it off? Who knows, but the singer and actress beamed confidence and beauty.

Quite a bit of velvet on the red carpet this year. A deep red velvet dress for actress Elizabeth Olsen. Everything works here from the neck line to the sleeves to how the colour compliments her skin tone. Love.

A printed jumpsuit was actress Melissa McCarthy's choice for the evening. Unique, eye-catching and, quite honestly, one of the best get-ups of the night.

A Valentino suit paired with a blue shirt: this was Jamie Dornan's look for the Critics Choice Awards. The double-breasted jacket/shirt/tie combo is, at first, a little tough on the eye, but we have to say it is growing on us.
