Gal Gadot to continue as Wonder Woman?

Right now, it remains unclear if Gal Gadot is officially done as DC's iconic Amazonian. There has been turmoil in the DC Studios as new co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran stated to The Hollywood Reporter that "as [the project] stood... [it] did not fit in with the new [but still unfolding) plans."

A new Wonder Woman already?

But is Gal Galdot hanging up the lasso for good? 'The Direct' implied that, even if DC decides to continue with Wonder Woman III, the odds are high that it would be a new actress.

It seems there may be at least one more film for Gadot

Despite The Hollywood Reporter revealing in late 2022 that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) cut Gal Gadot's appearance as Wonder Woman from 2023's 'The Flash,' it seems that some kind of Wonder Woman will be making the film. An Instagram user shed light on the situation.

Perhaps Wonder Woman will be in the new 'Flash' film

Instagram user @nerdserviceeeee took a photo of The Flash Funko Pop boxes, which clearly show Wonder Woman and her lasso part of the installment. Perhaps Gal Gadot did make the cut in the end and her future in the DCU is not over yet.

Gal Gadot more than just DC

Gal Gadot is going to Disney and plays the Evil Queen in the live-action adaptation of 'Snow White,' set to be released in 2024. She will also be the world's new Cleopatra in the film of the same name.

A wicked side

These new ventures will give the actress a chance to show off her darker side as well as her pharoah side and hopes to prove her multifaceted acting abilities on the big screen. Needless to say, we are excited about this new role for this Israeli actress and model. But over the past few years she has had to juggle work with a full house at home also needing her attention.

Gal Gadot had her third child

Gal Gadot now has three children, a perfect family, and is a Hollywood A-Lister making approximately 20 million dollars per film. She gave birth to her third daughter in June 2021, whom she called Daniella.

Family woman

The actress not only has a young child to worry about between takes, but also leaves her entire family at home. In the photo, her husband Yaron Varsano, whom she married in 2008, and their two daughters, Alma, now 10 and Maya, 5.

Mother and Hollywood star

Gal Gadot's third daughter was born to a mother who has become one of the brightest stars in Hollywood. It is worth remembering that the actress was pregnant with her second daughter Maya when she finished shooting 'Wonder Woman.' It was precisely this film that launched Gal Gadot to stardom.

Born in Israel

A path to stardom that began a long way away from the United States. Gal Gadot, until recently, was an Israeli model, born in Tel Aviv on April 30, 1985. She possesses Polish, Austrian, German and Czech heritage and stands at a tall 1.78 metres.

Miss Israel and Miss Universe

This is the moment Gal Gadot, in 2004, was crowned Miss Israel. She was just 18 years old, but her mother had prepared her to be a beauty queen from a very young age. She even went on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant but did not make it to the finals.

Model and Military

Despite having an established modelling career, working for brands such as Gucci and Huawei, the 20-year-old was ordered to serve in the Israeli Defense Forces, where she remained for two years as a combat instructor.

Gal Gadot's debut in film

A year after she finished her service, in 2007, she made her acting debut in an Israeli film, 'Bubot', was spotted and television roles swiftly followed including appearances in 'The Beautiful Life' and 'Entourage'.

Gisele Yashar

Gal Gadot had to wait two years to land her first big role in a Hollywood blockbuster. This was the fourth instalment of 'Fast & Furious', with a 85 million dollar budget. Gisele Yashar was born into its main storyline. Justin Lin, the director of this particular movie in the franchise, had a very good eye and chose the actress well.

The experience had such a positive effect that meant Gal Gadot would repeat her role in the next three films, including 'Furious 7', the last one filmed with actor, Paul Walker before his fatal accident.

Her Hollywood and Israeli careers

At the same time, Gal Gadot was receiving roles in well-received Hollywood titles such as 'Date Night' and 'Knight & Day' but also returning home on occasion, filming in Israeli productions such as 'Kicking Out Shoshana' or the series 'Asfur' and 'Eretz Nehederet’.

Defeating both Batman and Superman

And so came her rise to stardom in 2016. 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', was one of the most anticipated events of the cinematic year which would show stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill going head to head as Batman and Superman. As it turned out, Wonder Woman stole their thunder, the spotlight and the fandom.

The new face of Diana Prince

Gal Gadot had been chosen play Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, and her presence made such an impact on fans, the media and the world that, in 2017, she would really hit the big time and shoot her own movie.

Hard work with a smile

To get into character, Gal Gadot learned kung-fu, boxing, capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, as well as sword fighting. She stunned the world with her performance and was even in the Oscar nomination pools. She was knocked out of the final five at the last moment.

Salary discrimination

That same year, Gal Gadot returned as Diana Prince for the third time in 'Justice League' and that's where controversy broke out. The actress had received $300,000 for each of the three films she had played Wonder Woman, which could seem a pretty price; but this was far below her male co-stars and, above all, far below other heroes of the big screen.

A huge production compared to a minuscule salary

Taking a look at 'Wonder Woman’ - the film had a budget of almost $150 million, grossing $822 million worldwide.

She multiplied her salary by 33

That said, in 'Wonder Woman 1984', the 2020 sequel to her blockbuster, Gal Gadot did get paid a figure that was closer to was expected for her character: $10 million was pocketed by the actress for her fourth appearance as Wonder Woman.

20 million for 'Red Notice'

Of course, the $10 million is meagre compared to the $20 million she got for her role in 'Red Notice', one of Netflix's big productions in 2021.

Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson advocated on her behalf

Gal Gadot received the same amount as Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson who, as producer of the film, demanded that the salaries of the three leading actors be a similar figure.

Other projects: a heroine of the Holocaust

Interestingly, Gal Gadot is now in post-production on a film she will also star in, where she will play Irena Sendler, the nurse who saved more than 2,500 children from dying in the Holocaust.

The next Cleopatra

Gal Gadot will also be Hollywood's next Cleopatra, in a project that will depict her last days as Egypt's pharaoh. Her casting caused great controversy because of its arguable 'whitewashing.' Critics say the role should have gone to an Arab actress.

'Meet Me in Another Life'

And there's more! The actress will star in and produce 'Meet Me in Another Life', a romantic sci-fi story based on the novel by Catriona Silvey, in which a couple meet across several alternate realities, space and time. The reason for this loop across dimensions will be the great mystery of the story.

The Real Wonder Woman

Considering all this work, as well as raising three little girls and a constant presence in fashion magazines and cosmetics campaigns, we wonder and look forward to the other characters that Gal Gadot can bring to life, whether we ever see her again as Wonder Woman or not...
