Hollywood is in mourning after the premature death of Nicki Aycox at the age of 47. She was Meg Masters in 'Supernatural', a legendary series on The CW.

She had leukemia

The actress was diagnosed with leukemia in early 2021. The illness ultimately cost her her life.

Her family announced the news

Her sister-in-law, Susan Raab Ceklosky, gave the harsh news to the world with a message on her Facebook account.

Died with her husband by her side

"My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented, and beloved sister-in-law Nicki Aycox Raab passed away yesterday." Her husband, Matt Raab, was by the actress' side.

Missed by her family

The post includes several photos of the couple, family members, and the actress in a solo portrait.

Loved by everyone

"Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was definitely a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her," the statement ends.

She never hid her illness

The actress, who also participated in 'Jeepers Creepers 2,' did not hide her illness from her followers. She kept them up to date about her fight against leukemia.

Diagnosed in the midst of a pandemic

Nicki Aycox had been diagnosed in January 2021. She had contracted Covid-19, and the leukemia was discovered during her treatment.

A year of sharing her day-to-day

Two months later, she shared the diagnosis on Instagram, where she had more than 5,000 followers.

No filters or taboos

Since then, the actress updated her status regularly with her followers, showing everything from her day-to-day life to her treatments, including the hair loss from chemotherapy.

Honest in her bio

What's more, in her Instagram bio, she wrote next to "actress" that she was fighting leukemia.

It wasn't all leukemia

Of course, not everything was leukemia. The actress also shared her exercise routines, vegan dishes, and moments of leisure.

Eight months without posting

Yet, her last publication was dated March 2022. Then, the updates stopped. Her followers assumed that it was due to the delicate state of her health.

Joking in the hospital

In a nice but confronting video from the hospital, she said: "STOP! DO NOT attempt to sing 80’s music after taking high doses of chemo will cause memory loss." As she explained, she "literally got not 1 lyric correct."

Stem cell treatment

Many of her followers asked about the stem cell treatment that she was going to receive. She had announced this new phase in the treatment at the beginning of 2022.

Loss of a talented actress

It is unknown how this treatment affected the leukemia, but in any case, it was unable to turn around its course indefinitely. In the end, a talented actress died from a destructive illness after a year and a half.
