Maya Hawke, celebrity offspring, stars in Wes Anderson's Asteroid City

Maya Hawke is an actress and model emerging into stardom in Hollywood. She's known the world of show business since she was a little girl. Can you tell from her name and the image who are her parents?

Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke are Maya's parents. The actors met while filming 'Gattaca' in 1997. They fell in love and married in 1998. Their marriage lasted until 2005.

Maya Hawke was born in New York in 1998. She aspired to become an artist like her parents, and as a teenager, she took classes in the prestigious Juilliard School in New York.

On June 16, 2023, Wes Anderson's  movie 'Asteroid City' premiered. Among the star cast - including Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks - is also Maya Hawke.

In typical Wes Anderson style, the film is a combination of science fiction, comedy, and romance. The director wrote it together with Roman Coppola, the son of the famous filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. Maya Hawke plays a young teacher at a 1955 convention for amateur stargazers.
