ORIG SP - Paris Hilton - evergreen con escandalos
Paris Hilton is on top of the world, feeling like a phoenix rising from the ashes of her arduous past. In 2023, she welcomed a new baby and released a memoir.
Paris released a new memoir titled nonother than 'Paris: The Memoir.' It tells her story of triumphing through her tough times.
Paris has also debuted something else quite special: photos and the name of her newborn son, with husband Carter Reum. Her son's name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.
From her party antics to her public breakdowns, Paris has done it all, and mostly in front of Hollywood cameras from her teenage years. So it was quite a shock when she surprised the world with news of her newborn baby boy via a surrogate.
But who could really blame her? She had struggled publicly with infertility; perhaps this was the one piece of her life she wanted to keep private, for as long as she possibly could, that is.
Let's recap the very public life of Paris Hilton and how she ended up with her happily ever after - with the Prince she kissed so many frogs for and the baby she dreamed of for so long.
Paris married her longtime family friend Carter Reum on November 11th, 2021 after a short engagement.
Paris Hilton's 40th birthday was not the only milestone that month. She's also got engaged to her boyfriend, Carter Reum. The socialite announced the news on her social media, with the following images to show how and where it happened.
"My love surprised me with a birthday trip to a private island," she reported. "A complete paradise where we could celebrate safely with our closest family members and friends. It was the perfect place to mark a milestone."
Paris Hilton, the wealthy heiress of a hotel empire and the focus of endless media attention, has just turned 40. She is at a turning point in life. While dealing with a difficult past, testifying publicly about the abuse she endured as a teen in a boarding school, she's also looking ahead and thinking about starting a family.
It's an exciting time for the New York socialite. Her life is currently filled with highs and lows. But the highs will win in the end.
"For the past 20 years, I have had a recurring nightmare where I'm kidnapped in the middle of the night by two strangers, strip-searched, and locked in a facility. I wish I could tell you that this haunting nightmare was just a dream, but it is not." With these words Paris Hilton described her trauma after spending a year in a boarding school in Utah as a teen.
The socialite went back to Utah to testify to the state's Senate Judiciary Committee about the school she had gone to (Provo Canyon in Orem, Utah) in 1999. She advocated better government supervision of youth facilities, so that the abuse she endured would no longer happen to other children. "I tell my story not so that anyone feels bad for me, but to shine a light on the reality of what happened then and is still happening now," she told the committee, while wiping away tears.
Paris Hilton had first opened up about her hidden trauma in the documentary 'This is Paris' in 2020. She said that school staff "beat her, watched her shower, made her take medication without a diagnosis, and sent her to solitary confinement without clothes," The Independent reports. "I didn't breathe fresh air or see the sunlight for 11 months," she added. Now, more than twenty years later, the star is finally coming to terms with her past.
The socialite is dealing with past injustices, facing her traumas head-on. At the same time, Paris Hilton is also looking ahead towards a brighter future. She has a stable relationship and plans to start a family. Let's see how Paris Hilton went from parties and rebellion to baby names and a homely cooking show.
Paris Hilton has turned 40. The rich heiress of the Hilton empire used to be a real party animal, but she has long since moderated her lifestyle. Now, beginning her forties (her birthday is February 17), the socialite wants to go one step further...and become a mother!
The DJ and entrepreneur talked about starting a family on the 'Trend Reporter' podcast. "Having a family and having children is the meaning of life," she said. In fact, Hilton has already completed the process of extracting egg cells from her body. "It was hard but I knew it would be worth it. I did it a couple of times."
Kim Kardashian, her eternal friend, recommended this method and her own doctor to Paris Hilton. She hadn't realized before that it was possible to choose (to some extent) the kind of children one wants to have. "When you freeze your eggs," Hilton explained on the podcast, "you can pick if you get a boy, you get a girl, you get twins."
It's taken Paris Hilton quite some time to find this stability in love and life. Having become the muse of TV in the early 21st century, the socialite suddenly disappeared from the spotlights in the 2010s. Forbes even dropped her from its list of most influential personalities in 2016. Then. in 2020, the documentary 'This is Paris' revealed some dramatic facts about her life.
Paris Hilton was born on February 17, 1981 in New York. She is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of the Hilton Hotels.
Paris and the iconic Elizabeth Taylor were related by marriage, a brief one albeit. Taylor's first marriage, of many, was to Paris' great-uncle, Conrad Hilton, in 1950. Taylor and Hilton divorced one year later, but Paris and Elizabeth Talyor remained close throughout her life, with Paris posting a message to her social media upon her death.
Paris Hilton spent her childhood and teenage years constantly moving from one home to another. The advantage was that each new home was better than the last. They included luxury hotels suites in the Hamptons and Beverly Hills, or in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan.
At age 19, Paris Hilton signed a contract with the model agency of Donald Trump, then a powerful New York businessman. She appeared in several campaigns for Dior, Guess, and Tommy Hilfiger.
In 2001, a leaked sex tape involving Rick Solomon (the future ex-husband of Pamela Anderson) and Paris Hilton made its way to the internet. Lawsuits were filed for invasion of privacy on both sides, but eventually they were all dropped.
Paris Hilton was known on the Hollywood party scene in her younger years, alongside her other rich and famous counterparts, like Britney Spears and other celebrities. She is seen here in 2004 with Lindsey Lohan and Ashlee Simson.
Her real rise to fame came through the reality show 'The Simple Life.' Together with her BFF Nicole Richie, the daughter of iconic 80's singer Lionel Richie, they swapped their decadent Beverly Hills lifestyles with life on a rural farm.
The program was so successful that Hilton ended up starring in her own reality show: 'Paris Hilton's My New BFF.'
Paris Hilton also tried her luck in the world of acting. She was part of the cast of 'Wonderland' and 'The Cat in the Hat.'
Her work as an actress received negative reviews, though. For the leading role in 'The Hottie and the Nottie,' she received a Razzie award, a sarcastic award awarded to the worst performances.
While she didn't triumph in cinema, Paris Hilton had more luck in music. She released the album 'Paris,' whose song 'Stars are Blind,' made the Top 10 in 17 countries.
And she really loved being a DJ! Paris also knew how to entertain a crowd, which she did with great success! Even performing in two famous discos in the hotspot Ibiza, Spain - one of her favorite island holiday destinations.
According to Forbes, Paris Hilton makes more than $10 million a year from her own business. It consists, among others, of 50 shops around the world and 19 product lines with her name.
According to the New York Daily News, Paris Hilton's perfume is the second best seller of celebrity fragrances. The number one is not much of a surprise, Elizabeth Taylor's perfume.
Paris Hilton made little dogs the accessory you never knew you needed. With her mini dog Tinkerbell, the Chiuaua that never left her side (and went with her everywhere), she popularized 'the dog accessory,' and made a fortune on businesses off of it, before anyone else.
Like many multimillionaires in the world, Paris Hilton loves luxury cars, especially those that remind her of Barbie.
Together with her sister, Nicky Hilton, Paris participates in campaigns to raise money for cancer prevention and other causes.
Paris Hilton also donates part of her fortune to projects related to children and animals in need. Wherever she travels, she visits hospitals and orphanages.
The socialite has also been at the center of controversies, however. In 2007, she was infamously arrested for drunk driving and served (minimal) time in jail. She got arrested and convicted several times for drunk driving.
In 2010, Tokyo officials arrested the socialite for possession of drugs. They deported the millionaire's daughter to the United States.
Magnate Barron Hilton, who died in September 2019, only set aside 3% of his estate for his granddaughters. The rest was donated to charitable causes.
In the 2010s, Paris Hilton was out of the spotlight for a while. She did not appear on the Forbes list of most influential people in 2016. However, in 2019, the socialite resurfaced and attended the luxurious baby shower of her long-time friend Kim Kardashian, who was then expecting Psalm West (via a surrogate mother).
Paris Hilton seemed to have an endless queue of suitors...and engagements throughout the years. (Seen here a previous engagement ring...not her current ring from her husband Carter) From Greek shipping heirs to fashion models, the hotel heiress never seemed single for long but also never seemed to make it down the aisle.
Paris ended her engagement with actor Chris Zylka (The Leftovers) in November 2018. Months later, she was first seen with Carter Reum, an old family friend, and this time, the bridesmaid would finally become the bride.
In January 2020, a new channel premiered on YouTube: 'Cooking with Paris.' Formerly a party girl, the socialite now devotes herself to cooking more or less glamorous recipes. The channel has over 400,000 subscribers.
During her appearances on social media, the entrepreneur invented a new word. 'Sliving' is a combination of the verb 'to slay' - which she uses to describe 'winning' - and the word 'living.' For Paris, 'sliving' is like having a lifestyle of success.
Remember Paris' signature phrase: "that's hot?" Technically, she owns it - well sort of. "That's hot", "loves it" and her word "sliving" are registered for Hilton's own merchandising in apparel, electronic devices and other products.
In pride month 2020, Paris Hilton appeared on Instagram wearing a rainbow bikini. It was a way for her to express support for the LGBTQ community. Here she is shown in a West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade.
All of these success stories and images of positivity concealed a life of shadows and misfortune, however. In the documentary 'This is Paris', Paris Hilton revealed that she suffered from depression, anxiety, and insomnia.
"Sometimes I don't even know who I am," she confessed in the documentary. In addition, the socialite revealed that she had suffered physical and psychological abuse at the boarding school where she went as a teenager. A subject about which we now know much more.
Although she has had difficulty coping with her childhood trauma, Paris Hilton walks with her head held high. She persevered as a businesswoman and continues to be an inspiration to her many fans. There is no doubt those loyal fans are cheering her on as she adjusts to her next phase in life: motherhood.
