Takeoff's farewell

The music industry is once again shaken up by the murder of a rapper. On this occasion, it was Takeoff, a member of the hip-hop band 'Migos', who lost his life.

A shot in the head

The rapper, whose real name was Kirsnik Khari Ball, was at a Halloween party at a bowling alley in Houston. He was hit in the head by a bullet and died, TMZ reported.

Celebrating Halloween

The rapper attended a private Halloween party and shot at dawn on November 1, while about fifty people were present, TMZ reports.

An argument that got out of hand

Apparently, there was an argument about basketball that spiraled out of control, leading to an altercation and, ultimately, a deadly shooting.

A first shot triggered chaos

As TMZ detailed, the first isolated shot was followed by a burst of several more shots. They would have come from two different weapons.

Takeoff died instantly

One of the bullets hit Takeoff in the head and he died instantly. For his part, Quavo (in the photo), Takeoff's uncle and his partner in 'Migos', emerged unharmed from the altercation.

Two more gunshot wounds

Two other people who were at the party, aged 23 and 24, were also hit by bullets and had to be taken to hospital, police confirmed.

Collecting testimonies

The authorities asked all those present at the party to appear at the police station and provide direct testimony. As such, the police have various versions of the events at the party.

'810 Billiards & Bowling Houston'

Takeoff, very active on social media, had shared a video of himself at the '810 Billiards & Bowling Houston' establishment where he would die two hours later.

Earlier, he was with Jas Prince

Several hours before the incident, he also shared a video in which he was seen with producer Jas Prince. It seems, however, that Jas Prince did not attend the subsequent, fateful Halloween party.

Shakur Stevenson miraculously escaped

The one who did go with Takeoff was Shakur Stevenson, a prominent boxing star. In fact, he can be seen in very close proximity to Takeoff in the videos TMZ posted of the moment of the shooting.

Takeoff wasn't so lucky

Shakur Stevenson dodged the bullets, which seemed to have passed him only by inches.

Takeoff, Quavos and Offset

Takeoff was one of the three members of 'Migos', along with Quavo and Offset. Since its foundation in Lawrenceville, Georgia in 2009, it had quickly become a famous hip-hop band.

Inspiration for great rappers

Among its best-known songs are hits like 'Versace', 'Fight Night', and 'Look at my Dab'. The group's style inspired famous rappers like Drake and Kanye West.

Was Migos falling apart?

However, everything pointed to the fact that, without official confirmation, the group had broken up. Offset had started a solo career while Takeoff and Quavo had just released an album together entitled 'Only Built From Infinity Links'.

Many rappers murdered lately

Takeoff joins a growing list of rappers murdered in recent times. Among the most recent was PnB Rock, who was shot at point-blank range in a restaurant while he was eating with his girlfriend.
