2023 was a great year for Shakira. Not only did she make money with her songs against her ex-partner, Gerard Piqué, but she won also several awards and honors. One of them was the title of 'The most beautiful woman of 2023' by Spanish People magazine.

The Colombian singer heads the list of 'The 50 Most Beautiful' of 2023 according to Spanish-language People magazine. It's not just because of her physical beauty but also because of the spirit of resilience that has helped her move on after being cheated on by her partner of 12 years. Shakira claims she inherited that fighting spirit from her parents.

"My mother has always been my accomplice and my father my best friend," she said in the publication. "He went to Barcelona to comfort me when I was consumed with sadness for my separation and while there,... he was seriously injured in an accident."

"…Everything came together, my home was falling apart. I found out from the press that he betrayed me, while my dad was in the ICU. I thought I wouldn't survive that long," said the Colombian in her interview with People.

The magazine explained that its '50 Most Beautiful' list is made up of people who have a great love for their art, for their fans, and, above all, for themselves. That's why Shakira, a woman who inspired others with her talent and courage, leads the list.

After suffering the hardship of splitting up, Shakira began to rebuild alongside her children, Milan and Sasha. With them, she moved to Miami, Florida, to begin another stage in her life after having spent more than a decade in Spain with Piqué.

"They are everything to me, they are the reason for my life. They inject me with indescribable strength every day, and they also fill me with joy every day," the Colombian told People.

Although moving on was not easy, she demonstrated to the world and to herself that with talent and a good dose of self-esteem "women don't cry anymore, women make money." And so she did, thanks to music, especially her song 'Music Sessions #53' which she made with DJ Bizarrap.

"Music saved my life and gave me wings to fly," she said. "It allowed me to be myself, it rescued me in the most difficult moments. It connected with who I really am when I felt like I was losing myself. When I didn't recognize myself, music was my mirror."

"I have gone through denial, anger, pain, acceptance, mourning, hope, disappointment, hope again, illusion. So many emotions and feelings..."

Of course, building a new life has not been easy, but Shakira has put all her effort into it. Now, her entire family managed to be well and happy.

"My free time, which is little, I have had to dedicate this year to fighting to get my children, my parents, and my new life afloat outside of Spain," she said. "Provide a new home for my children."

"I try to work or do something fun when the children are at school or when they are with their father," she said. "The rest of the time I am with them and for them, and working to offer them a structure that gives them stability. Little by little I am getting there, rebuilding the nest."

Undoubtedly, 2022 was a very difficult year for the singer. She was separating and had troubles with the Spanish tax man. However, in 2023 things looked up for her.

Among other things, she has been recognized for her talent and for her impact on the new generation, to the extent that she has also been considered as the 'Woman of the Year' by Billboard magazine.

"There are days when I feel strong, there are days when I feel that I have lived through so many hard things, that I can face anything," she told People Spain. "All my life I've been scared to face the things I've had to face in the end, and I've survived them."

"I thought I couldn't," she continued, "but the resilience of the human being is inexhaustible, and more so that of women."

Shakira also appeared to be dating happily. She was seen with the British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton and with actor Tom Cruise, among others.

In addition, she scored big hits with 'TQG,' 'Acróstico', and 'Copa Vacía'. The latter is a duet with Manuel Turizo.

Without a doubt, Shakira is a worthy representative of beauty, not only physically, but also in other ways. She has all that makes a person shine: self-esteem, talent, and the freedom to be who she wants to be.
