Need-to-know air fryer tricks

The Airfryer has become the household appliance of the era. A fryer that cooks without oil - an oven with small dimensions that allows you to make gastronomic magic at a moderate price is a must for any kitchen. Now, if you want to get the most out of it, here are some tips...

To preheat is to succeed

It is recommended to preheat the air fryer for 3 to 5 minutes before putting the food in.

One layer of food

Although it may take a little longer, it is advisable to cook the food in a single layer so that it is cooked evenly. If it does not fit, organize cooking in batches but do not overfill the Airfryer.

Give it a wiggle

Every 7-8 minutes of cooking, you should shake the Air fryer basket to ensure that everything is evenly cooked. It is also advisable to turn the food over so that the bottom does not fill with liquid and the food is done on all sides. Use tongs, if you do not want to have burn marks for life.

Avoid sauces

It is not recommended to cook with sauce in the Air fryer because the liquid will go to the bottom of the basket and will burn. A wasted task that will end up not giving you the flavor you are looking for anyway. Besides, you can always add them to the dish once cooked.

Absorbent bread

Place a slice of bread in the bottom of the basket to absorb the fat released by the food and make it drier and crispier.

Minimum rest

When you finish cooking a dish, do not remove it immediately. Turn off the air fryer and let it stand for 2-3 minutes. This will ensure that the food is juicier and does not dry out when you take it out.

Reheating is the best

Remember when you used to reheat food in the microwave and it would dry out? Well, that's not an issue with the Air fryer, where you'll find that reheated food is just like freshly made.

Baking paper

One of the problems with the Airfryer is how dirty it gets. To avoid this, use special vegetable paper for air fryers or, more simply, aluminum foil. Of course, even if it isn't as dirty, you will still have to clean it.

Oil? No, thank you (to large amounts)

The air fryer is designed to cook with hot air, so using grease will only complicate the process by generating smoke.

Oil? Yes, thank you (a little)

It is a good idea to spray some oil on the food because it helps to enhance the browning of the food and prevents it from sticking to the basket.

Silicone, your great ally

In the air fryer you can use any oven-safe element. Now, the best are the silicone molds, because they adapt to the shape of the basket. They are easy to clean and have very nice colors that will give a nice touch.

Get to know your air fryer

Each air fryer manufacturer comes with an instruction manual with cooking times for the most common foods. Of course, every home and every fryer is different, so the best thing to do is to try it out, get to know yours and, with time and use, adapt to its mechanisms.

Wonderful accessories

It is possible that, many people will criticize you at first, but they will end up being envious of the wonderful accessories you can buy for your Air fryer. The grids are top sellers and will help you place more and better cooked food.

Toast

In fact, toasting bread in the air fryer, with the help of racks, has become a morning essential for many people. Say goodbye to your old toaster.

Clean everything

Even if you think it is not too dirty, you should clean both the basket and the reservoir of the air fryer after each use. Failure to do so may contaminate the taste of subsequent meals.

Baked fruit

If you go on Instagram, influencers blast you with recipes for the air fryer but few tell you that this appliance is a marvel for fruit: baked apples and bananas, mixed fruit skewers... You name it.

Let the air get to it

It is also recommended that you place the air fryer under an extractor fan and away from heat sources.
