Chiarello was a television star, having made his way to become a reputable, beloved, and acclaimed chef. However, on Sunday, October 8, he passed away at the age of 61.

The former 'Food Network' star died at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, California, from an acute allergic reaction that resulted in anaphylactic shock, TMZ confirmed.

Regular on TV in the 21st century

For more than a decade, Michael Chiarello hosted culinary programs on PBS, Fine Living, the Cooking Channel and Food Network. His ability and ease in front of the camera was almost as outstanding as behind the stove.

In fact, 'Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello', which aired on Food Network for 10 seasons (2003-2006), went on to win three Emmy Awards.

A familiar face to many

At the same time as his restaurant and TV success, Michael Chiarello has written eight recipe books since 1995. Then, as always food needs a good accompaniment, he established the Chiarello Family Vineyards in the late 1990s.
