Blackpink's Jisoo's love story with Korean actor Ahn Bo-hyun - from start to finish
The K-fandom and especially Blackpink fans were surprised when they heard that Blackpink’s Jisoo was officially dating South Korean actor Ahn Bo-hyun back in August! What may have been even more shocking, was that the two suddenly broke up after just two months.
Jisoo is a member of Blackpink, one of K-pop's most popular girl groups. She is a successful singer in Blackpink, and she recently released a solo album that broke records in global music charts. Jisoo is an actress in addition to her work with Blackpink.
Born Kim Ji-soo on January 3, 1995, in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, Jisoo joined YG Entertainment after passing auditions at the age of 16.

After training under YG Entertainment for 6 years, Jisoo made the cut and was selected to be a part of Blackpink.
According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Blackpink took 6 years to debut instead of the usual 4, which meant that the members of Blackpink were exceptionally well trained for entering the K-pop scene and had perseverance in what they did, as many fellow trainees dropped out due to the extended training time period.

Other than her work with Blackpink as their singer, Jisoo was allowed to venture into acting and landed her first leading role in Disney+’s ‘Snowdrop’ in 2021.

Jisoo's first notable acting role did not start off well. According to KBIzoom, 'Snowdrop' has earned the reputation of being a 'cursed' series, owing to how it enraged many Korean netizens to petition for its cancellation, and also because two actresses from the show died in succession after filming.

Despite the mired reputation of her acting venture, Jisoo found great success in her solo music career when she released ‘Flower’ earlier this March.

‘Flower’ topped music charts in South Korea and overseas upon its release! According to Forbes, Jisoo’s single managed to even make a mark in Canada, UK and the US too and even overtook bandmate Rosé’s previous record in the Canadian charts for ‘On the Ground’.

According to StyleCaster, despite being one of South Korea's most popular celebrities right now, Jisoo has never gotten to enjoy her popularity in her love life, as she has never been romantically linked to anyone before. But that has since changed!

Naturally, the K-pop world was taken aback when it was revealed that Jisoo was dating Korean actor Ahn Bo-hyun in September, especially since the two appeared to be outside of each other's social and professional circles, according to Allkpop.
Ahn Bo-hyun is a South Korean actor who is best known for his breakout role as a villain in JTBC’s ‘Itaewon Class’.

After seven years of modelling, Ahn Bo-hyun decided to make a mid-career switch to venturing into the acting scene in 2014.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Ahn Bo-hyun's entrance into acting stemmed from his friendship with actor-turned-model Kim Woo-bin, who similarly assisted him in his transition into the acting world. His first role was in KBS's 'Golden Cross,' and the rest is history.
Since starting his career as an actor, Ahn Bo-hyun is now best known for his work in the previously mentioned ‘Itaewon Class’, ‘Yumi’s Cells’, ‘Kairos’, and ‘See You in My 19th Life’.

Back in August, the confirmation from Jisoo's and Ahn Bo-hyun's agencies that the two were officially dating was and still is a first for a Blackpink member, according to Korea JoongAng Daily.
According to the same report, unlike Jisoo, several men have been romantically linked to Jennie from Blackpink over the years, but these rumours have never been confirmed. Jisoo was lucky to have the open blessing of YG Entertainment!
Sadly, despite the good news, The Straits Times reports that Jisoo and Ahn Bo-hyun have called it quits after only two months of being public. The official explanation is that they "naturally grew apart due to their hectic schedules."
