Kevin Spacey rushed to hospital during film festival
It happened on Monday, October 2, at the local Tashkent International Film Festival of Uzbekistan, but the incident only recently became known. Kevin Spacey, 64 years old, had a major health scare.
The actor had to be taken to a local hospital when he thought he was having a heart attack.
It was the actor himself who confirmed what happened at the closing of the festival. He recounted how everything went out of control while he was visiting the Afrasiyab Museum in the city of Samarkand.
"I suddenly felt my entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds," Kevin Spacey said, in statements collected by The Daily Mail. "I shook it off, but I immediately told the people I was with and we went immediately to the medical centre."
Spacey also suffered from generalized tingling, breathing difficulties and chest pain, according to The Sun.
However, after going through the relevant tests at the hospital, they ruled out that it had been a myocardial infarction.
According to several specialists in 'The Sun,' the reported symptoms indicate that the actor suffered a transient ischemic attack, also known as a mini stroke.
In fact, that same day he was discharged, according to The Daily Mail, and he continued with his commitments at the Film Festival.

Kevin Spacey himself said that his state of health was "completely normal", but that this scare had helped him realize "how fragile life is."
"Human life is very fragile and short, so everyone should live together and support each other," he said at the closing of the event.
The actor, found not guilty of nine sexual crimes against four men by a London court in July 2023, says he's ready to resume his career.
However, after this scare, Kevin Spacey may have to prioritize his health before anything else.
