Holly Willoughby: the best and funniest moments in her 14 years on This Morning
Holly Willoughby says goodbye to This Morning after keeping us entertained for 14 years. We look at our favourite, stomach splittingly-hilarious Holly moments.
One of the reasons we love her so much was her mere humanity: her frequent mistakes or miss pronunciations on national TV. Holly's regular comment that she ‘nearly wet myself’ makes her all the more human. Add to that her and her co-presenter’s true British humour in the fact that almost any comment between the two is made into an innuendo made us love her even more.
A lot of the humour was ex co-host Phillip Scofield’s reactions to Holly’s comments and the fact that the pair made everything sound rude. They cheered us up when we were sick on the sofa and felt a part of our everyday life. We remember our favourite moments.
Phil and Holly are in the kitchen and are using some whizzing device. Phil says ‘I’ve never whizzed it over the kitchen’ and Holly replies ‘ I should hope not’ the pair then get the giggles and struggle to continue without bursting out laughing.

If you haven’t seen this one - it is a must. Philip and Holly are interviewing a woman on the show who has a younger lover and the detail she goes into about their first night together leaves Holly in tears of laughter.

Holly and Phil had some hilarious moments over the years with Gino D'Acampo. Sometimes because of his accent... occasionally he pronounces words incorrectly, such as saying turd instead of third - Holly is often in stitches when she is in the kitchen.
During one show, Gino is cooking the classic British dish 'toad in the hole' and begins the segment by saying: ‘Ladies, when your husband comes home from a hard days work, what does he want, yes... a sausage in the hole' at which Holly loses it completely.

Phil and Holly are trying one of Gino’s dishes when Holly remarks ‘If this had ham in it, it’s closer to a British carbonara’. Shocked by the comment, Gino responds with ‘If my grandmother had wheels she would be a bike’. Cut to Holly on the floor laughing at his response.

During Holly’s pregnancy Gino makes a comment about how she has changed since becoming pregnant. Gino gets confused and instead of saying 'up the duff' he says 'up the fluff' - to which both Holly and Phil lose control completely.

Reluctant to try one particular food Holly quickly pops it in her mouth and says "Once it’s in I Love it!" She quickly realises what she has said and uncontrollable laughter returns to the kitchen.

During one segment called 'Laughter Yoga' in lockdown, the presenters have to make a laughing sound during a yoga exercise. Of course Holly can’t control herself for long, the fake laughter becomes real and chaos takes over.

Returning from a break, Holly the professional is ready - but her co presenter is on his mobile. When he realises they are back on air he looks at Holly and says ‘At least I’ve never fallen asleep with it in my hand.' Holly starts to giggle and they both laugh without restraint.
Another fond memory of the pair was when they turned up to present This Morning still in their outfits from the night before, where they attended the National Television Awards. Many giggles as they both had clearly not slept... but they still had bounds of energy and proved to many that a work/life balance can be done even presenting on live TV first thing in the morning!
Hungover Holly chooses the cake over the pickled eggs and tucks in. She forgoes any etiquette and dives in with the serving spoon, straight in the middle of the cake. Refusing to let go of it, she is then presented with a pan of mushy peas on the table in front of her which, she says, is something she 'does not want to look at today' and continues to spoon cake into her mouth in the midst of the giggles.
During one live broadcast, the two, naturally, got the giggles. Holly is obviously not feeling too well, having a raspy sound in her voice. During the giggle, Holly lets out a strange noise (like a cartoon Woody Woodpecker laugh) and sends them both over the edge.
In talking about their 'best bits' and food surprises, Holly and Phil go to talk about fried salami. Yet, out of the blue, Holly calls it 'twisted salami', causing the pair to giggle through a conversation about how one should never twist their salami - especially on television.
Her long-time costar, Phillip Schofield, made the decision to come out as gay on live TV. In a painful confession filled with emotion, Phil was clearly struggling to deal with this on live Tv. Holly, ever supportive of her long time friend, said "whatever happens, I will be by your side" before sharing a hug that brought the British people to tears.
In May 2023, Phil left This Morning after admitting to an affair with a younger man at the studio. Holly announced her resignation in October 2023. An end of an era, British morning TV will never be the same again.
