Influencer Nicky Newman (35) passes way: "If you read this, it means I've died"
Nicky Newman, one of the most committed and active influencers in the fight against breast cancer, has died at the age of 35.
Suffering from breast cancer that turned lethal in the end, Nicky Newman faced the last years of her life as a challenge to raise awareness among women around the world.

With her motto 'Grab the Life', the influencer worked to give visibility to the early detection of breast cancer.

Her goal was as simple as it was laudable: to prevent other women from going through what she experienced in the last five years.

Nicky's work was and is important. Breast cancer in women is the fifth leading cause of death. "In 2020, about 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide and 685,000 died. Every 14 seconds, somewhere in the world, a woman is diagnosed," the Breast Cancer Research Foundation states.
"If you're reading this it means I have died, I made it 5 & half years though, not bad for a stage 4 breastie ey," Nicky Newman posted on Instagram.

This farewell message came a week after her death and was posted by her husband, who had been her great support and ally in these years of hard work.

The work began in 2018 when, at the age of 30, Nicky Newman suffered a miscarriage that took her directly to the hospital.

Once admitted to the hospital, the tests they performed found a tumor in her chest that had already spread, metastasized and was incurable.

Instead of collapsing, Nicky Newman decided to work every day to not only get well but also to inform other women about the disease. She has done so, even after dying.

"And none of this 'she fought her battle nonsense'," she says in her last message. "I didn't lose anything, the cancer eventually took over & that's okay, we all knew this would happen."

The publication accumulated more than 30,000 comments. There would be much more if the comments hadn't been restricted after that. Messages of support and farewell kept pouring in.

For his part, her husband, Mr. G, has also shared a few words. Apparently, Nicky Newman had asked him to do so. He remembered the time they were together and how their connection was immediate from the age of 14, when they met.

In addition, he announced that "Nicky has still got some incredible things to share on here and I am hoping you will stick around to see them come to fruition."

"I will share it with you in her place, just as she would have wanted," he wrote. "I just ask you bare with me a little."

Yes, Nicky Newman aims to continue working to promote the early detection of breast cancer, even after dying. Respect, honor and eternal glory to those who have used their influence in this work and in the circumstances in which they have done so.
