2023 in photos: everyone in pink for the 'Barbie' premiere

The much anticipated day had finally arrived. The stars of the much-hyped ‘Barbie’ film sashayed down the hot pink carpet to the film premier on a sunny July day in Los Angeles. The film's star, Margot Robbie, shone and surprised by opting for a black, not pink, gown.

But her stunning black sequin Schiaparelli dress did not stray from the Mattel toy of the hour. Indeed, the look was an obvious nod to the 1960 Solo in the Spotlight doll.

But Ryan Gosling, who features as Barbie’s boy toy Ken, did embrace pink for the premiere. While he may not be an obvious Ken, Variety’s social media editor who saw the premiere said it was a role he was “clearly born to play.” Can't wait to see the movie? It hits general theaters July 21.
