Super Junior's Ryeo-wook is getting married!
The K-pop world has a new wedding to look forward to as Soompi reports that Ryeo-wook, one of the members of Super Junior, is getting married to Ari, a member of the now-defunct K-pop group Tahiti.
Ryeo-wook is a member of one of K-pop’s most iconic and biggest boy bands, ‘Super Junior’. He is also part of the sub-groups ‘Super Junior-M’, and ‘Super Junior-K.R.Y’.

Super Junior is a K-pop boy band managed by SM Entertainment. The band is considered one of the biggest contributors to the global phenomenon of the ‘Hallyu Wave’, reports Naver.
As part of Super Junior, Ryeo-wook has contributed to hits such as ‘Sorry, Sorry’, ‘Mr. Simple’, and ‘Show Me Your Love’.

As of 2016, Soompi reported that Ryeo-wook had embarked on a solo career. As a solo artist, he has released three solo albums to date: ‘The Little Prince’, ‘Drunk on Love’, and ‘A Wild Rose’.

Did you know?: Ryeo-wook once made history as one of the first K-pop stars to have the honor of appearing on Chinese postage stamps back in 2008, reports Newsen.
According to The Straits Times, Ryeo-wook had met his now fiance, Ari from the now-defunct girl band Tahiti, through a mutual acquaintance in 2020 and confirmed their relationship in the same year.
Ari is a K-pop star who was once a member of the girl group ‘Tahiti’. The group was formed in 2012 but disbanded in 2018.

Ari was a member of Tahiti and joined in 2013. She was known as the youngest member in the group. She remained in the group up until it’s disbandment in 2018.

As part of Tahiti, Ari has contributed to hits such as ‘Oppa, You’re Mine’, ‘Hasta Luego’, and ‘Tonight’.

Since the dissolution of Tahiti’, Ari has switched careers and moved to acting, reports The Korea Times.

SBS reports that Ari mostly performs in theatrical works. Coincidentally, this might be where she met Ryeo-wook, as since going solo, he too has delved into acting in theatre!
When news that Ryeo-wook and Ari were dating went official, The Straits Times reported that the news was not very well received by their respective fans back in 2020.

The Straits Times report mentions too that the lukewarm response to Ryeo-wook and Ari’s dating news even led to the two stars apologizing individually on their social media to their fans for the announcement.

Fast forward to 2024, and Ryeo-wook made an announcement on his Instagram, with a handwritten note announcing that he and Ari are to be married this May, reports Soompi.

In his handwritten note, The Korea Times reports that Ryeo-wook mentioned he had sought the approval of his Super Junior bandmates and management for the wedding with Ari and the decision was made with careful consideration.

The same report from The Korea Times notes that Ryeo-wook had once again apologised to fans for the announcement, for it being sudden news that may have shocked them. Regardless, the news this time around was much more warmly celebrated by his fans!
