Original Disney series

In addition, Disney opted for its own fiction and, in a short time, created a spectacular catalog of new series. Click on to see which are the best among them.

Secret Invasion (2023)

Nick Fury continues the MCU storyline but tackling some pesky shape-shifting Skrulls. Samuel L Jackson reprises his role in the MCU and is joined by Olivia Coleman and Emilia Clarkein the quest to save humanity.

Only Murders in the Building

Combining crime with comedy, plus the chemistry between Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short, turn this quirky show into a perfect series.

Dopesick: Story of an Addiction

A limited series that explains how the worst opioid epidemic in the United States unraveled, both from the top-down perspective of a cold pharmaceutical company and the drama at the bottom of ordinary people turning into addicts. The performances of Michael Keaton, Rosario Dawson, and Kaitlyn Denver are absolutely amazing.

Gravity Falls

Don't be fooled by its appearance; it's more 'X-Files' than Mickey Mouse. Lovable characters, urban legends in every chapter, and an absolutely wonderful main plot make 'Gravity Falls' worth your time.

Agents of SHIELD

A series ahead of its time, surprising with its quality, and going further each season. Its nods to the MCU are constant and highly satisfying.

The Mandalorian

They say that Pedro Pascal has back problems from carrying all the weight of the Disney Plus promotion on his shoulders, but he's doing it well. Some even say that 'The Mandalorian' is better than the last 'Star Wars' trilogy.

WandaVision

This show was really surprising. What started as a 50s' sitcom, ended up being an ode to mental health and an unmitigated drama. The chemistry between Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany is tremendous and the show received fabulous critical acclaim.

What We Do in the Shadows

Original and fun, this series mixes vampire flatmates, a docuseries, and an absurd touch with the signature of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement.

The Americans

Without a doubt, this is one of the best series of the 21st century. It's a portrait of Soviet sleeper agents and their lives in the United States in the 80s. The connection between Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, who ended up being a couple in real life, is pure nuclear chemistry.

Star Wars Rebels

The adventures of the Phoenix Squadron set the foundations for the future of the saga. In four seasons, the series has continued to grow and improve.

Photo: Lucasfilm

High Fidelity

There's only one season of this updated remake of the famous movie, which makes for quick and satisfying consumption. If you like music, and Zoë Kravitz, this is your kind of series.

Hawkeye

Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) shows that she has the capacity to carry the weight of a Marvel series or saga. Her complicity with Jeremy Renner allows for great comedic timing, even in the midst of a fight to the death.

Photo: Marvel Studios

Sons of Anarchy

This biker version of a western has seven seasons worth watching in its entirety. That's something not every series of such length can say.

What If...?

If you have seen the Marvel movies, there is no premise that will have escaped you. And yet, this show is capable of surprising you with each episode. Don't let the fact that it's animation keep you from enjoying one of the best Disney Plus series.

Photo: Marvel Studios

New Girl

A feel-good series where you will finish having fallen in love with at least one of the five lead characters. Zooey Deschanel shines with her own light playing Jessica "Jess" Day, although, at times, Max Greenfield and Jake Johnson steal the limelight.

The Beatles: Get Back

Three episodes to learn a little more about the human side of The Beatles without ignoring their musical side. A chance to get to know John, Paul, Ringo, and George up close as they created two of their most iconic albums: 'Abbey Road' and 'Let It Be.' An essential series, created by LOTR Peter Jackson.

American Horror Story

Unorthodox and essential, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's passion for quality horror delivers an excellent series. Just to see Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe in their different roles make all of its seasons worth watching.

Photo: FX Network

Spider-Man

Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1994, this is considered one of the best-animated series in history. It's the most cheeky Spider-Man and closest to the comics.

Photo: Disney Plus

Falcon and the Winter Soldier

A fundamental series integrated into the MCU, pushing the story forward - with a good script, strong performances, a good main plot, and great secondary plots. It's got action, drama and comedy: what more do we need?

Photo: Marvel Studios

Loki

Tom Hiddleston unleashes Loki and takes the character to another dimension (or dimensions). It has its own identity and gives us some unexpected highs such as Owen Wilson's mustachioed Mobius and Sophie Di Martino's amazing Sylvie, this is an essential show for your watch list.

Photo: Marvel Studios

Moon Knight

Oscar Isaac plays his character with dissociative identity disorder to the extreme. It's an acting masterclass as strange as it is hypnotic. Without a doubt, this is one of the riskiest series on Disney Plus.

Photo: Marvel Studios

Obi-Wan Kenobi

This is a series that got better over time and, above all, recovered Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen for the saga.

Photo: Lucasfilm

Ms. Marvel

Kamala Khan is one of Marvel's newest sensations. Her series was the basis of a promising future for the franchise. Iman Vellani is a star in her own right and aims to spend many years in the MCU thanks to the powers she herself develops in the series.

Photo: Marvel Studios

Star Wars: The Bad Consignment

The Clone Force 9 is a group of elite soldiers who received extraordinary powers in the process of cloning and are in charge of special operations. Highly recommended.

Photo: Lucasfilm

Marvel's Runaways

Teenagers with powers discover that their parents are part of an evil corporation called The Pride. If you mix 'The O.C'., 'Dawson's Creek' and 'Avengers', you get this interesting and refreshing series.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

If you already loved Jeff Goldblum, you'll be delighted when you see him explain the history of everyday objects like coffee or sneakers.

Photo: National Geographic

Science of Stupid

The concept is simple: how to explain accidents, falls, or explosions through science.

Photo: National Geographic

The Imagineering Story

Want to know how Disney theme parks around the world were created? Angela Bassett will tell you about it. Do not miss this gem of six episodes.
