The day Anne Hathaway almost drowned
They say reality is stranger than fiction. Although Anne Hathaway has experienced different dramatic moments throughout her prolific career as an actress, nothing will surpass the moments she saw her life pass before her eyes.
What happened? Why will she always remember that vacation to Hawaii in January 2014? It was not a dream holiday...
2014 had barely started when Anne Hathaway, who was disconnecting in Oahu (Hawaii), had one of those scares that you never forget.
According to TMZ, Anne Hathaway was surfing in the ocean (which seemed very calm) when a strong current put her in serious trouble.
No matter how much she struggled and swam, she couldn't get close to the shore. Her situation got so serious that she was on the verge of drowning.
The actress called for help but no one came to her aid. Then, when she almost gave up, a surfer approached her and helped her get to the shore.
Once she was safe, she could talk to her husband again - the actor, producer, and jewelry designer Adam Shulman. It was at that point that she realized she had injured her left foot on the coral reef.
According to witnesses cited by TMZ, her husband took a first aid kit and treated the actress's foot.
Fortunately, the ordeal was only a scare to the actress. In those years, she was at a high point in her career after winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for 'Les Misérables'.
Highs and lows follow each other fast. This chapter in Hawaii is no doubt a low that Anne Hathaway will never forget...
