After four months, Cody Longo's cause of death at 34 is released
Actor Cody Longo (34) passed away on February 8, 2023, but it would take several months for his cause of death to be revealed.
The autopsy on the star of 'Days of Our Lives' and 'Brothers and Sisters' was completed in June. A full report is now available on what was originally a mysterious death.
According to the report obtained by TMZ, the cause was "chronic ethanol abuse," a medical term that implies that he died of alcohol abuse.
Cody Longo had been found dead in his home in Austin, Texas. His manager Alex Gittelson confirmed the sad news to CNN.
At the first moment, the causes of death of Cody Longo were unclear, according to the aforementioned media. However, it was known that Longo had been struggling for some time with his addiction to alcohol.
Stephanie, the actor's wife, alerted the authorities after trying to contact Cody Longo while she was at work and receiving no response.
A police patrol approached the family home and, when they arrived, they saw the actor's lifeless body lying on the bed.
"Cody was our whole world. The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated," his wife declared after the actor's body had been found.
"He was the best dad and best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you," Stephanie Longo stated.
The couple had three children, Lyla, Alijah, and Noah, ages 7, 5, and 1, respectively.

Despite this, as TMZ reports, the actor had been struggling with his addictions for years.
In fact, throughout summer 2022, TMZ confirmed that Cody Longo was in rehab to cure his drinking addiction.
With such a background, the family directly assumed it was a relapse that cost him his life, per TMZ. Now, a few months later, their fears were confirmed by the autopsy.
Cody Longo had been working as an actor since 2006, mostly in television.
Although he has not stopped working since then, the truth is that most of his roles have been episodic.
Saying that, the actor had appeared in well-known series such as 'Secrets and Lies', 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' and 'Brothers & Sisters'.
His most recognisable roles were the eight episodes in which he played Nicholas Alamain in 2011 for the tv show, 'Days of Our Lives'; and, of course, 78 episodes of 'Hollywood Heights' in which he played Eddie Duran in 2012.
His roles will always remain, locked on the screen. But he also leaves the memories for his fans and, above all, his heartbroken family.
