The new Forbes list of the richest female musicians

According to the new Forbes list, Taylor Swift is currently the richest artist in the world with an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion.

The global success of 'The Eras Tour', the ever-increasing value of her song catalog, plus royalties and real estate assets, have pushed the 'Shake It Off' singer past Rihanna, who previously held the top spot.

The jump has been considerable since Taylor Swift's financial fortunes were 'only' 1.1 billion dollars in the last update of the list, made in April 2024. In other words, the year's second half has been legendary in terms of her financial fortunes.

Just behind Taylor Swift, and falling from the top spot, is Rihanna. She combined her music catalog with her makeup and lingerie businesses to reach the $1.4 billion she currently has.

Rounding out the podium is the Queen of Pop, who, on this occasion, has to settle for third place and an estimated net worth of $850 million.

Madonna has generated $1.6 billion from her tours since she started. The first of these, 'The Virgin Tour', was in 1985.

From one queen to another, Queen B occupies the fourth place on the Forbes list of the richest artists in the world. Beyoncé has 760 million dollars, according to Forbes, after increasing it by 100 million thanks to her 'Renaissance World Tour'.

In fifth place is Canadian singer Celine Dion, whose net worth is estimated at $550 million. Most of this amount came from her residency as a singer in Las Vegas.

And if Celine Dion may be a surprise for many, it will be even more so to see Barbra Streisand in sixth place with an estimated net worth of 460 million dollars. The artist's relevance is absolute.

Seventh place goes to another perennial entertainer, Dolly Parton, with a net worth of $450 million. Most of this comes from her stake in the Tennessee family theme park Dollywood and her estimated music catalog of $150 million.

Katy Perry closes this list with a well-deserved eighth place and $350 million in assets, of which $225 million came from the sale of her catalog in 2023.

It is worth noting that, among global artists, Jay-Z is the richest person in the world according to Forbes, with a net worth of $2.5 billion.

Outside of the music industry, Oprah Winfrey ($3 billion) and Kim Kardashian ($1.7 billion) are the richest female celebrities in the world.
