The tragic cause of death of Evan Ellingson at age 35
A month after his sudden death at age 35, the cause of actor Evan Ellingson's passing has been revealed.
The actor, who played Horatio's son in 'CSI: Miami,' died of an accidental fentanyl overdose. California authorities announced the tragic news to the press.
NBC News reports that since the death of his older brother, Austin, also from an overdose, the actor's life had spiraled out of control.
The Ellingson family had already been badly hurt by an untimely death in 2008. Austin Ellingson, Evan's older brother, died at the age of 22 due to an overdose.
Ellingson stated in a video posted on YouTube: "When he died from the overdose, it kind of just sent me over the edge. I would have given everything that I had in order to be able to get my brother back, and I knew I couldn’t."
In 2021, Evan Ellingson was admitted to an alcohol and drug rehab program, River's Edge Ranch. TMZ described the house where he lived until his death as a "a sober-living home."
On November 5, 2023, the lifeless body of the young actor was found in the bedroom of his house in San Bernardino County, California.
While the cause of death was initially unknown, the actor's father, Michael Ellingson, confirmed that his son had had addiction problems. However, he said that it appeared that Evan was better now.

Evan was a successful child actor in series like 'CSI: Miami'. He appeared in a total of 18 episodes over three years.
Evan had quite an important recurring role in the series. He was Kyle Harmon, the son of Lt. Horatio Caine and his estranged, sometimes disturbed ex-wife, Julia Eberly (played by Elizabeth Berkley).

He played the teenage son of Cameron Diaz in 'My Sister's Keeper' in 2009.
