The Prince of Salmon

Handsome, young, elegant, and made of money. Life smiles down on Gustav Magnar Witzøe, known as the prince of salmon and one of the world's youngest billionaires.

A multi-million dollar legacy

At just 31 years old, the Oslo-born Norwegian (born in 1993) received more than half of SalMar - the family business. It is one of the largest salmon producers in the world.

His father is still in charge

Even though his father, Gustav Witzøe, gave him 53% of the company's shares, Witzøe Sr. currently maintains control of SalMar.

Increasing all the time

Despite this, his inheritance has not stopped growing. As Forbes points out, in 2016, at just 23 years old, his assets were 1.1 billion dollars, in 2022 he quadrupled it, to 4.5 billion.

$3 billion at 30

However, the global economic turmoil reduced his assets to 3 billion million dollars as of 2023.

Tech investments and real estate

Gustav Magnar Witzøe has not left his money just sitting in the bank. He has made large investments in technology companies and real estate, as reported by Forbes.

A model

While he waits to inherit the family salmon empire, Gustav Magnar Witzøe is dedicated to enjoying life and working as a model.

'Next Models Worldwide'

Gus, as his friends call him, has a streamlined Nordic body that helped him make a name for himself at the New York modeling agency 'Next Models Worldwide'.

Quite a celebrity

Tall, blond, blue-eyed, and with the looks of a 20th-century Disney prince, Gustav Magnar Witzøe is quite a celebrity in Norway.

Influencers on the rise

In fact, his Instagram account already has 131,000 followers, despite not being excessively prolific in sharing content.

Norwegian way of life

Of course, each photo he shares on Instagram is an occasion to show off his luxurious lifestyle and hobbies.

Salmon and Fast Food (occasionally)

Skiing, fashion, catwalks, classic cars, a private jet, and, in between, a McDonald's Bacon Cheeseburger. Because even the king of salmon fancies Fast Food from time to time.

Problems with the law

One of his passions is cars, and this caused him a bit of trouble when he was arrested in 2018. He was driving at 116 km/h in an area limited to 60 km/h, according to 'Dagbladet Magasinet'.

Two weeks in jail

While in other countries they may be somewhat more lenient, in Norway it meant that Gustav Magnar Witzøe spent two weeks in prison. "It was a strange experience. I felt very bad when it happened. Now I drive calmer."

Hoping to take over

Waiting to take over at SalMar, Gustav Magnar Witzøe is making himself known in the celebrity world - it could come in handy when doing business. His father has set the bar very high for him.
