Tupac death investigation gains momentum as family tracks connection to P. Diddy
Tupac Shakur's family has hired attorney Alex Spiro to investigate a possible link between the rapper's murder and Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Rolling Stone magazine broke the news first in early October.
The family has assembled a team of investigators tasked with trying to clarify any connection between the Bad Boy Entertainment founder and the death of Shakur, who was murdered in 1996.
Tupac Shakur was killed in a shooting in Las Vegas in September 1996, during the height of the East Coast-West Coast rap rivalry. The murder remains unsolved, although there was a recent breakthrough in the case, according to Billboard.
According to Rolling Stone, in September 2023, Compton Crips gang member Duane Keith 'Keffe D' Davis was arrested and charged with Shakur's murder, taking an unexpected turn in this case.
Davis has repeatedly claimed that Sean Combs offered him $1 million to attack Tupac. These comments have sparked new lines of investigation.
Alex Spiro, known for representing celebrities such as Megan Thee Stallion, Jay-Z, and Elon Musk, is the attorney standing by the Shakur family to conduct this investigation.
According to Billboard, over the years, Sean 'Diddy' Combs has categorically denied any involvement in Tupac's murder, calling the allegations "ridiculous" and "completely false."
The alleged connection between Diddy and Tupac's murder has been referenced in pop culture. Most recently, Eminem's song 'Fuel' mentions the case, according to Billboard.
Duane 'Keffe D' Davis' trial is scheduled for March 2025. Meanwhile, the investigation continues, and the Shakur family seeks to uncover the whole story behind the murder.
In addition to the allegations related to Shakur's death, Diddy has recently been arrested on charges of conspiracy, trafficking for abuse, and other crimes.
