Mr. Big... until 2021

In 2021, Chris Noth seemed to have it all. A popular TV actor, he was starring in the series 'The Equalizer,' while 'And Just Like That'..., the sequel to the show that made him famous (S e x and the City), had just aired.

The accusations

But in December of that year, Chris Noth, the actor who played Mr. Big for years, was accused of s e x ual harassment by two women, with three more women later coming forward.

The incidents allegedly occurred in 2004 and 2015

The accusations from the first two women relate to incidents that occurred years apart: one in 2004 and the other in 2015. The women reportedly had no connection to each other.

Interviews with The Hollywood Reporter

Under the pseudonyms Zoe and Lily, both women detailed the alleged assaults in interviews with The Hollywood Reporter.

Zoe’s account

Both assaults reportedly happened in an apartment. In 2004, Noth allegedly took Zoe to an apartment in West Hollywood and assaulted her when she was 22.

Lily’s account

Lily claimed she was assaulted in Noth's Greenwich Village apartment in New York in 2015, when she was 25 and he was 60.

Noth denied the allegations

Noth denied both allegations. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, he said, " “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false."

'No always means no'

"These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual," he told the Hollywood Reporter.

'It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories'

Noth also questioned the timing of the accusations, pointing to the reboot of the famous New York-based show: "It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”

Initial contacts with the newspaper

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the women did not contact the publication until August and October, when the reboot of 'S e x and the City,' 'And Just Like That'..., was already a hot topic.

Zoe explained why

Zoe explained her reason to the media, saying that seeing him reprising his role in in the popular HBO hit triggered something in her. She said she wanted the public to know what the actor was really like.

Cheating isn't a crime

"I strayed on my wife, and it's devastating to her and not a very pretty picture," he told USA Today, admitting he cheated on his wife Tara Wilson (pictured). "What it isn't is a crime."

Canceled from 'And Just Like That...'

As a consequence of the allegations, a million-dollar deal for selling his tequila brand to Entertainment Arts Research Inc. was canceled, his character Mr. Big was removed from the 'S e x and the City' reboot, and his character in 'The Equalizer,' William Bishop, was killed off-screen.

Iced out by the ladies

The main cast of the show also "iced him out," according to the Daily Beat. In 2021, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis released a statement saying they were “deeply saddened to hear the allegations” and “support the women who have come forward.”

No charges filed

As reported by SkyNews, no criminal charges were filed, and there was no investigation following the accusations.

What he's doing now

Since then, little has been heard about the actor. In 2023, he became the face of Samuelsohn, a U.S. fashion brand, for its centenary. He is also part of the cast of the film 'Cutman,' directed by Michael Mailer, as he mentioned on Instagram. However, the days of 'S e x and the City' mega-fame seem to be a distant memory.
