The actor from 'Dahmer' has a long resume!

Evan Peters has scored one of the roles of 2022, thanks to 'Dahmer - Monster,' where he plays serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. But this role is far from his first.

Is it really him, behind the mustache?

Peters has been in the industry for more than 15 years and you have surely seen him on more than one occasion. Shall we refresh your memory?

His film debut

To see Evan Peters' acting debut, you have to go back to the year 2004, when he knocked down the door of the Hollywood industry with the leading role of Adam Sheppard in the drama 'Clipping Adam.'

A devastating drama

Under the orders of Michael Pichiottino, Evan Peters took on the role of a careless and withdrawn kid who seeks, along with his father, the help of friends and family to stop getting into trouble. They need to try and overcome the death of his mother and sister in a car accident, years ago.

Since that time, he has not stopped

That was the beginning of a career in which, between films and series, the actor accumulated a filmography with more than thirty titles.

An American Crime (2007)

In 2007, Evan Peters played the role of Ricky Hobbs in 'An American Crime' (2007). The film has similarities to 'Dahmer' as it tells the true story of a psychopath. In this case, it was Gertrude Baniszewski (Catherine Keener), a 70s housewife who kidnapped and tortured a girl named Sylvia (Elliot Page).

His first foray with psychopaths

In 'An American Crime,' Evan Peters plays a young criminal who happens to be Baniszewski's neighbor and feels attracted to Sylvia. As such, he becomes an accomplice in her torture.

Never Back Down (2008)

Learning a mixture of action and martial arts, Evan Peters gets into the skin of Max Cooperman, the best friend of the protagonist of this story, Jack Tyler (Sean Faris). The result is something like 'Karate Kid' but with Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) as a weapon to achieve the patience and discipline necessary to face the thugs on duty.

Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown (2011)

Three years later, Evan Peters would repeat the role with 'Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown.' In the second installment of the film, the mentor and his student train a young woman in Mixed Martial Arts to fight in a clandestine event.

Kick- ... (2010)

Between the two martial arts movies, Peters would join Chloë Grace Moretz and Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the film 'Kick- ...'. He gave life to Todd Haynes, the friend of a boy who wants to be a superhero without having the skills to be one.

American Horror Story (2011-2021)

Filmmaker Ryan Murphy saw the potential of Evan Peters and began including him in several of his projects. For one, there were numerous appearances in 'American Horror Story,' making it the longest-running project of Peters' career.

In 'American Horror Story,' he was Andy Warhol, Charles Manson, and even Jesus

We got to see Evan Peters in different roles, showcasing all his acting potential. Apart from lead roles that lasted entire seasons of 'American Horror Story', he also played characters like Andy Warhol, Marshall Applewhite, David Koresh, Jim Jones, Jesus, and even Charles Manson in other seasons of the anthology.

Adult World (2013)

In 2013, Evan Peters made a 180-degree change in what he had been doing, moving from action and horror to romantic comedy with Emma Roberts and John Cusack. Robert plays a girl who goes to college with the dream of being a poet, but she ends up working in an adult book store where Evan Peters plays the role of salesman Alex.

Evan Peters and Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters would ultimately be a couple. Their fictional relationship in 'Adult World' would turn out to be a real one too.

Together in film, TV, and life

The couple reinforced their double-sided love story when they appeared together in the third season of 'American Horror Story'.

Some outburst but a long relationship

The love story between Roberts and Peters was messy, to say the least. In July 2012, Emma Roberts was arrested after assaulting Evan Peters in a hotel. It appeared to be an isolated event because the couple resumed their relationship - albeit far from the press - for quite a few more years.

End of love and horror story

Finally, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts broke up in 2019. It affected their work to the point that they stopped appearing together in the eighth season of 'AHS.'

X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

In 2014, Peters played Pietro Maximoff, alias Quicksilver, the fastest guy among all Marvel superheroes, in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.'

Safelight (2015)

It is not one of the best films of his career, nor was it exactly acclaimed by audiences and critics, but in 'Safelight', Evan Peters gave a great performance as a young man with cerebral palsy.

The Pirates of Somalia (2017)

In 'The Pirates of Somalia,' an independent film, Peters shares a cast with Barkhad Abdi, Melanie Griffith, and Al Pacino. He takes on the role of the protagonist, Jay Bahadur, a young rookie journalist who gets mixed up with Somali pirates in order to get up close and tell the story of these men who hijacked ships for ransom.

American Animals (2018)

Evan Peters plays a boy who, along with his friend Spencer Reinhard (Barry Keoghan), discovers that being an adult is more complicated than they expected. To overcome disappointment and fight against the system, they plan to rob a university library.

Deadpool 2 (2018)

Since Deadpool is part of the X-Men universe, it was unsurprising but nice to see Evan Peters appear as a Quicksilver cameo in the second movie about this irreverent antihero.

Pose (2018)

Ryan Murphy, the man behind 'American Horror Story,' cast Evan Peters for an interesting role in the series 'Pose.' It tells the story of the African-American and Latino LGBTQ+ cultural scene, focusing on the lives of a group of drag queens and transgender people.

Ground-breaking TV

Evan Peters plays Stan Bowes, one of the main characters of the first season of 'Pose.' He falls in love with one of the trans women in the group, Angel Evangelista. They embark on a passionate yet painful affair, even though Stan is married.

Mare of Easttown (2021)

For the big audience that hadn't watched 'American Horror Story' or X-Men yet, this miniseries was their first introduction to Evan Peters. Starring alongside Kate Winslet, the actor plays Colin Zabel, a detective who is sent to the small town of Easttown, Pennsylvania to help Mare Sheehan (Winslet) in her investigation.

Emmy for his role as detective Colin Zabel

Peters made a big impression with this role, even though he was the supportive actor next to superstar Kate Winslett. As a matter of fact, the actor won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor with his role in 'Mare of Easttown.'

WandaVision (2021)

Since Quicksilver is the brother of Scarlet Witch, Evan Peters was invited to make a small cameo in the Disney Plus series 'WandaVision.' It was a clear wink at the saga of the X-Men movies.

Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022)

In 2022, Ryan Murphy created, wrote, and produced the controversial series 'Dahmer - Monster: the Jeffrey Dahmer Story,' about the real-life serial killer of the 80s and 90s who made at least 16 victims. Evan Peters got the leading role of the so-called Milwaukee Monster.

His most difficult role

The figure of Dahmer is horrific and the violence in the series is explicit. Evan Peters has told Netflix that playing Jeffrey Dahmer was "one of the most difficult things I have had to do in my life."

An Emmy for 'Dahmer'?

While respecting the feelings of Dahmer's real-life victims and their families - he emphasized how important it was to him that the series did not use the killer's point of view - the actor of course hopes to savor the show's success. There may even be an Emmy in it for him, as Best Actor in a Leading Role - who knows?
